and Teslas will have full level 5 automation by the end of 2019.
Yeah, with anything Tesla I'll believe it when they start arriving at customer's doorsteps, no sooner. Though really that is a good expectation for all companies these days, lots of announcements, slow to deliver.

Has anyone tried to use a Tesla converter to get access to more ev chargers for the MME? Is it worth it?
I have a TeslaTap since I tend to see more Tesla destination chargers than other chargers. It's a little pricey in my opinion, but it's priceless when you need a charge. Used it for the first time on a trip. Stopped for lunch and there were two Tesla chargers but no other chargers. The charger cord was very short since it was designed to reach Tesla charge ports. I had to park in the space to the right of the charge parking spot to make it fit. It was also fast - 50 miles/kwh.

BTW, the original "Tesla Tap" brand are here:

The "Lectron" brand is here:
https://ev-lectron.com/collections/ev-adapters

Tom Moloughney does a video on these:
Best expert advice we've garnered on these is avoid Lectron or any TeslaTap with less than a 50A capacity. Your three best options are the TeslaTap 50 or 80 or the TeslaTap Mini. These will handle the maximum power the Mach E will draw.

Tesla is motivated to get some of the infrastructure money so I'm hopeful that this is a top priority for them ?
Like everything else from musk it will be a scam. Nonteslas will be able to charge, but the adapter will be $1000, there will be a $200/yr membership fee, and the charging rate will be twice the tesla rate or more. So, because they opened up the network they'll get money, but no CCS user will actually use it because of the ridiculous cost.

I have a teslatap, bought it because when I travel it opens up to more destination chargers. I was just at Mount Rushmore and very surprised to see tesla brand chargers with J1772 plugs on them. I digress yes the teslatap works great I use it when possible because usually the tesla destination chargers are faster
