Do the APIM before doing the steering column update.
Basically this is the only thing we are waiting for the past year. The (if any) other update can wait. APIM is USB right ? So i do not need to hook up the 12 V supply.

No just make sure you've run the car for about 15 minutes beforehand so your 12V battery is above 80% SOC to avoid the FDRS warning.

Well that was different.

Yesterday I updated the GWM, APIM, TCU, and SCCM. All went well.

Today was my first drive post updates.

Putting it in reverse I got the reverse brake assist not available. That is normal after updates in my experience.

As I drove down the street I got lots more alerts as modules lost communication.

After about three miles later all the alerts went away and I was at a stop light so I turned the car off and on.

I got a notification that I had got an update in the car but not in FordPass. Took me to the 6.1.0 release notes in the car.

I had 6.1.0 stuck, the reason I broke out FDRS.

It’s like it applied the stuck OTA while I was driving. It was all the same scary messages you get while applying updates via FDRS.

Yup, I’ve heard of that happening when both FDRS and OTA are trying to do the same update at the same time.

FDRS should really check if there is an OTA pending before it updates anything, but it’s not that sophisticated.

After posting I got the FordPass OTA notification.

The OTA had been stuck over a week.

Ok the APIM has been flashed, but i got a message that 1 module did not succeed. see pic.
After doing a "rerun network test" the APIM update disappeared and now i have SCCM and TCU available.

Calling quits for today, well see again tomorrow.
I do like the new colors and setup !

It's Thursday so I was surprised to see the APIM update show up for my '23 model (instead of on Friday as usual).

And yesterday I saw in FDRS that the APIM update was available for my Lightning as well, so I downloaded the files to a USB drive, but decided to wait and see if it would update as an OTA. After driving around doing errands I stopped in at the dealer and my service advisor said I had no OTAs in progress. So I figured I'd give it a few days before sticking in the USB drive.

Here's the difference. I moved my car over to the garage to do the APIM update with FDRS a few minutes ago, and hit the Check Updates button before getting out to go get the laptop, and was immediately rewarded with "downloading 6.2.0". So I'll let that update go as an OTA before connecting the FDRS laptop to see what pops up next.

I wonder why that APIM update hasn't queued up for my Lightning yet?

Synch revision 915, eh?

I got the Synch 980 here in the USA two weeks ago.

Good Luck with the Euro updates!
Dude... don't make it worse. They are at a serious disadvantage over there.

If anyone is doing FDRS updates Do GWM/APIM/TCU first as usual. Do NOT do the IPC or SCCM until you have completed all 3 of the GWM/APIM/TCU updates, even if you don't have all of those showing, do not move on until you get those 3 done.
