How difficult is it to remove a windshield and panoramic roof and then put it back on? Is this something a dealer can easily do or something that’s hard to get perfect outside of the factory?
I ask because if it’s something the dealer might have trouble doing just right, I might not want it done. This recall stems from Ford inspecting a Mach-E in June where they felt not enough adhesive was used. As far as I know, there hasn’t actually been an accident reported where the windshield or panoramic roof separated from impact when it should not have.
I’m not opposed to getting a stronger bond put in, but if there is a decent chance of getting the vehicle back with a windshield or roof alignment issue, or wind noise where there was none before, I’m not sure I want to take that chance on what to me seems like a pretty conservative reason to issue a recall.
