i was casually looking up value of my car on WBAC and Motorway, and whoa!

value seems to have fallen almost 10k compared to last year. my mileage is very low so i am sure it's nothing to do with that.

i guess its a matter of supply and demand.

Used prices for Mach-E (and second hand cars in general) have dropped off a cliff in the last couple of months.

Guess the cost of living issues have kicked in and demand has dropped, which has in turn decimated the used car prices.

Example: 1yr old Mach-E RWD ER ~10,000 miles

May 2022 - £47,380
March 2023 - £37,000
June 2023 - £31,000

Yep - read it and weep folks - now is not the time to be selling your Mach-E on the second hand market!

I dont think it is a case of dropping off a cliff. I think they are reaching the level that they SHOULD be at. They have been high because of the supply of new cars has been restricted because of supply issues. Now that they seem to have been, mainly, resolved prices are equalising. EVM on YouTube explains it quite well in one of his recent posts.

I read something like this, too, and also Autovista’s industry intelligence which is that used EV prices are generally down.

Thing is, you only suffer the loss if residuals are down when/if you actually come to sell.

I almost decided to run the ‘Stang til it’s just an old nag so will be worthless when I’m done with it anyway.

Hey MikeC, what a scream. I’m not alone!
? A well said description to a very disappointing story! But how about all the polite responses from MME UKBEV or FPGBR that basically come to nothing? … Let alone FP Community??
Now I get pms from FPC manger now threatening to ban me 3x for breaking rules and being rude and not keeping the forum from being a positive experience. This is from posts here now,, not on FPC. So (you know who) has time to troll through my posts on macheforum and FB Mach-Ex UK to tell me to stop it… , but doesn’t have time to reply with any accurate information about concerns and questions we all have that are posted to him and others on their forum? See any proper solutions?
Why all this? I love my MME, …. but never in all my years have I made such a legitimate cash purchase and been more shocked and dismayed by lack of proper customer service, through the whole FMC including accountability from senior management.
Fact is all focus is on selling new cars & latest model. People are falling for it, just as we did! Eventually the penny drops!
Guess we can only laugh… the joke is in us! ?

Oh btw how’d your Ferry trip go?
Hang on...are you saying that there's somebody (assumedly some sort of admin?) that trolls through your posts on other forums or whatever and then threatens to ban you because they think you're being rude and keeping the forum from being a "positive experience"? Like a "speech police" kind of thing?

Any idea if RVs have dropped for Model Ys too?

Yep, manager from FP Community
“…Leaving sarcastic comments on numerous posts about being banned may seem funny to you but it brings the mood down on a site we've started to help people and provide a space for users (and potential users) to find out more and talk to each other. “

He’s also referring to posts in this Forum and FB I made about that forum! Muppets!

Think a lot of the price fall is down to Tesla dropping prices and the current cost of electricity being high especially if you can’t charge at home.

Mind you not happy about 20k loss in 12 months / 3000 miles.

Would Feel better if Ford have us the sync update and bluecruise updates

My Glass’s retail selling value is now £30,420 @ 59,000 miles though the mileage charge I make for business travel made a touch over £25k which is the difference, as it happens, between cost new and current residual value so no real complaints.

That is a horrendous drop in price. I bought mines for £51000 new and its dropped to £31000 in 1 year. I had a 2016 Mustang GT bought new for £32000 and sold it for £23000 after 6 years. That is only a drop of £9000, the Mach E dropped £20000 in one year. That is crazy, I can't see me buying another EV after this. I still have over £34000 left to pay on my PCP, so the car is actually worth less than I owe on it.

I think this is a temporary blip in the market with new prices / used prices / interest rates / supply & demand all being so volatile.

Hopefully the world will settle down a bit over the coming months and these pricing issues will stabilise (it can’t get any worse can it?) ? ?

Big thanks to WD helping me out, very nice to meet you!

On an another note is there thread about energy tariffs in the UK?

Might be a bit boring but I have just moved to OVO and currently charging at 10p per KWh so pretty happy.

If any one has any questions please ask or if you know of better plans I would be interested in knowing.

Hi All

I have recently taken delivery of my Mach E and loving it so far. I have been lurking for a week or so extracting lots of good info, so thank you all.

I have a question which I haven't been able to find an answer to and I am hoping you guys maybe able to help, apologies if they have been asked before and I have missed it.

I didn't receive my factory code (for the door panel) when I got my car (second hand) I have gone back to the dealer and they are trying to get it. In the meantime I have seen there are other ways to get it.

I have tried the 2 fob trick which does indeed pop a factory code on the screen which initially made me happy, until i discovered that it is only a 5 digit code and here in the UK we have 7 digit codes?!?!?

Others have mentioned it is retrievable via Forscan, i am happy using Forscan and have a compatible ODB adapter but I have not seen anywhere where it is listed (which module etc).

Is anyone able to shed any light on retrieving the code for UK models?

@WD just down the road from, good to have someone else local :D
If you remove the panel cover in the passenger footwell the code is visible inside somewhere I recall. I had to do this myself a few months back. I got the info from YouTube
