yes I agree - they can't move them back in to the factory as that is full with new cars being made.Yes one team at one location is cheaper and more efficient. Plus by then there may be more issues that may have come to light by then.
Then you must consider the issue of time. The transport time gives them a window to procure, plan and set up the inspections AND it's a cost not at a dealer price.
We will probably never know what work is involved but a team of people doing one job, in one place if they are organised, is much cheaper and quicker than a dealer network; most of whom have not yet completed their basic high voltage training let alone a detailed repair.
