Status update for those that don’t have satellite tracking...

Have you paid extra to get the satellite position rather than just the AIS position?. If so I think that is another ? you are owed

Yes I paid for the satellite service - as the saying goes “a fool and his money are easily parted” :)

Is it later than originally on the timetable. I thought is was supposed to be in Antwerp not long after the Grand H?
She did a couple of extra stops and is also stopping in Leave first.

I think I might take a walk to Portland Bill tomorrow and wave to it as it goes past. Should be about there by then.

A follow up from my live chat a couple of days ago. Nothing that we don't already don't know, but at least she kept her word and emailed me.

Following on from our live chat conversation, at this time I can advise you we have made no decision or announcement on our response to the disappointing Government decision to cut the Plug-in grant. We are currently talking to relevant authorities with regards to existing qualifying orders that were placed prior to 17th February and had not yet been registered for the grant. We appreciate your continued patience and will update you as we know more - please bear with us for a little longer while we work to resolve the issue.

Apologies we cannot provide further updates at this time, however I will follow up via email again next week with you when we hope to know more.
I've had the same email from Hannah and what concerns me is why are they only talking about orders placed up to 17th February? I placed my order on 9th March, and as far as I'm aware there was absolutely no sign that the government were going to change the rules on the 18th, and the website let me order with the grant discounted. What happens to those of us who ordered in good faith between 18th Feb and 18th March? I asked Hannah in case the date was wrong and she said " I have put 17th February, and that is correct. That is what the Government have given as the guidelines for the next steps in the grant change for our customers. We are still awaiting answers on this. "

I know the grant change isn't Ford's fault, but I don't feel they are dealing with it very well - I don't know how many orders are affected, and how much it would cost Ford if they were to honour the price we were quoted, but I think they should do the right thing and cough up the £3000!

I hope we hear of a decision before the long Easter weekend when I doubt any of the decision makers will be working!

For me, no grant = no Mach E and all this hassle is spoiling the excitement of waiting for this brilliant car!

A question to anyone else who will have to cancel if the grant price isn't honoured, how long are you going to risk leaving cancelling in case you lose your £1000 deposit? This is another reason why we need a decision ASAP!

The orders after that feb date should be ok as the gov said they would allow orders that aren't already keyed into their portal but are were placed within 28days prior to the announcement.

That's how I interpret it but you should check.

This is why ford have a problem as they have orders dating a far way back - months ago which were never keyed into the "claim" portal and this as they weren't logged into that system aren't now qualified.

If you read the terms and conditions it is very ambiguous/confusing.

As you ordered in march you need to be proactive and ask has your order been entered into the portal and ask for proof in writing. Dont be fobbed off as it could be a costly error otherwise. This is your dealer you should be talking to.

Re your deposit, you can't lose it. And it's on a credit card too which makes a refund a lot easier.

As has been previously said I would hang in there at the moment. I had a previous model I cancelled to change from standard to extended range. Cancelled online and money was in my account within 3 days. I fall into the 28 days as new order was placed 18th February. My dealer has said he has the details from Ford to enter into the portal and I await the outcome. But if the £3000 grant is not successful I would still hang in there to see what Ford come up with. The deposit is fully refundable and you have nothing to lose waiting for the outcome except what looks a great car ?

My thoughts exactly. I've already cancelled one order and the deposit was refunded very quickly via the dealer. I've pushed back my home charger install by another week to see if there is any clarity from Ford. If the price does indeed go up by 3k then I will be cancelling my second order sharpish, along with the home charger install as I wasn't particularly bothwr d about switching to an EV, my wife just liked the Mach E.

One thing to note, during cancelling my first order Rebecca told me that if cancelled within 90 days of order placement, we need to contact the dealer for the cancellation and refund, if cancelled after 90 days then it's processed by Ford directly. Either way it is fully refundable so we have nothing to lose by sitting this out.
