The updateDate usually refreshes automatically when you access the data page (so usually shows the current time (in GMT, so an hour behind). I find it can be a bit slow to update sometimes though, but doesn't indicate someone in your car. The packageCode you have there is the updated software delivered during the QI process (someone from the Norwegian thread confirmed this).
OK so interestingly, despite me accessing the page multiple times over the last 24 hours, it updated yesterday morning showing 8.04, and then again today showing 8.25, it didn't update any time in between (in the multiple times I checked because I'm becoming obsessive...)

tappsDate updates happen both when you send an activation request, and when someone enters the car - so if you send lots of activation requests, its hard to see when someone is doing something to the car
Thanks. I am not sending any activation requests now so that I know any tappsdata is because of someone entering the car!

Yes the updateTime can be a bit slow to changesometimes - no idea why! I'd keep focused on the vehicleDateTime and tappsDateTime. All of this is a bit random and interpretive, but perhaps that's part of the fun (or a distraction from all the frustration associated with this process!!).

This is not my idea of fun!

I agree Steve.

I was not in the market for a new car just yet but, after seeing the Mach E, I just had to have one.

I was so excited when I ordered it, especially, as I appeared to pick up a cancelled order (built 28/11) with delivery on 10/05.

I’ve since become so fed up with the process from Ford with lack of communication, some pretty poor manufacturing issues reported in the USA and slippage of delivery I’ve been on the brink of cancelling a number of times.

The only thing that has kept me going is that I’ve invested too much in the car. I’ve purchased a private reg, had my charger fitted and booked in for a ceramic coating. Not forgetting the £3k grant.

#Keygate is the last straw and, depending on how I go in this week, I might have a private reg for sale.

My delivery now is looking like mid June at the earliest and most of you have now caught up with me.

I’m so happy for you all getting your cars. I just feel like instead of getting a cancelled order built in November last year (now nearly 7 months old) and having to have all the quality checks done, I could have had a brand new one which, hopefully by now, has been built right!
Just bear in mind if you emailed Lee on Friday - he's off this week and Sam is covering for him, so a response to the key issue might be delayed.

I sent an email asking to ensure the correct keys are supplied as per the manual as someone had made me aware that they keys being supplied weren't correct.

I didn"t send any activiation requests since mid of april anymore and the activation failed (for sure).
So it isn't me. Nice

Has anyone who picked up their cars received their BO headphones yet?
Not as yet ?

On an unrelated issue I had my first glitch today - the main centre touchscreen went black and died while driving.

Got home and it didn't even come back on even after turning car off and on again. Could see the backlight was active - but screen was black.

Did a Centre Screen Master Reset (hold the volume rocker in the down position and the right arrow key together for 10 seconds.) and it came back all ok.

This is probably an unresolved Sync4A bug that will be addressed at a later date.

Hi @davkd

I think we are both in a similar position - I was not in the market for a MME until my wife kindly brought me a copy of What Car with their full review ...... so I just had to order one ?

As with you, the biggest disappointment since has been the wholesale lack of any communication whatsoever from Ford - leaving their Mach-E Team and the Concierge to deal with all the enquiries, complaints and distraught buyers without any support.

On a personal note, I have found both the Concierge and the Mach-E Team to be courteous and helpful, and always try to do their best in the unenviable circumstances they have to contend with.

My delivery is also June and the car will be "an old one" ?

Perhaps I am trying to convince myself it will be fine, but in real terms if we put things in perspective have there been that many problems with the actual cars?
  • The overall physical build quality looks good, apart from a few loose bolts, and some poor fitting of the panoramic roof
  • In terms of any component faults the biggest item appears to be the infamous "buzzing instrument cluster"
  • Outside of that there have been software problems, the most significant one being the "dead 12v battery"
I'm still concerned about the roof and the instrument cluster (and to a lesser extent the ground clearance and ride, thanks to test drives we have all had) and perhaps I have subconsciously forgotten other issues, but the sun is shining so I'm remaining optimistic that everything will be fine ........... ?

In a month's time hopefully this will all be history ??

Cheers,
David

So much for Antwerp QA unless this is an unresolved Sync4A bug that will be addressed at a later date.
Hi @Wonky_Donkey

Sorry to hear you've had your first glitch - but otherwise I hope you are really enjoying the car. It's great you are one of the first to experience the MME ?

I had a quick question for you in relation to the frunk.

Everyone seems to have problems closing it (I did on my test drive) so is there a knack to it? I am not keen to just crash it shut?

Thanks
David

Oh there is 100% a knack to the Funk - and I'm pleased to say I have got it sussed now.

I tried all sorts of ways to do it, trying to let it drop, pushing down on the bonnet - all not recommended!

The trick is to close it almost all the way gently letting the pneumatic supports take the strain, then place both palms on the very front lip of the frunk where its is most solid, and gently push down. You hear it click when it locks and it's a very gentle action with no dropping or slamming required.

Can you record an instruction video, I really couldn't do it when we had the test drive and my husband managed it about 40% of the times he tried...

Thanks David.

I'm sure you are right.

I received the following from Hannah this morning about the keys:

"Good Morning Dave

I hope you had a nice weekend.

I understand, and I am working hard to resolve this for every Mustang Mach-E customer as you have all been waiting patiently for your cars to arrive. I have escalated the issue to make sure we can get a resolution together for you."

Can't fault Hannah. I find her extremely proactive even though her hands are tied.

I had 'escalated' it myself to Lisa Brabin, CEO Ford UK and William Ford, CEO Ford USA so, hopefully, between us, we might get things sorted.

I won't hold my breath though.
