Just picked up my mach e yesterday but it came with two of the smaller old style of keys so doesnt fit the key holder. Did anyone else have the same issue?
Yes, I have 2 of the crappy crap crap keys also, and they don’t fit the key holder in the armrest.

The “key holder” in the armrest is actually a key programming station. It’s not meant to have the key stored in it ;)

Having seen all of the americans complain about only having one key fob I'm not sure whether I should be greatful about having two key fobs but it's a small feature that feels annoying. The supplied key blades are also not compatible with the supplied fobs.

So having just picked up my MME, I have a couple of questions for the experienced.

1. As small as it is, if I turn off the touchscreen beep in settings, it always turns back on after a restart. can anyone else confirm they have this?

2. This one is annoying. I only use CarPlay (wireless) and Siri’s voice is too quiet, so I adjust the volume whilst Siri is speaking and get it nice and loud. Next time I use Siri, she’s quiet again. I have to adjust the volume every time I use it?

3. No updates available for me either. Says up to date and all WiFi etc connected.
Haven't used it enough to notice. It did lose my settings from when I left the dealership so had to set it up again this morning. Will check when I'm next out.

Ahhh - the eternal mystery of the “bong bong“ noise ?

I used to get them all the time, on startup, while driving - just random double “bong bong” with no apparent clues as to what they were.

One day I noticed that a teeeeny tiny drop down alert just peeked down for a fraction of a second from the top of the Sync4 screen. It was alerting me that there was no traffic issues on my route between my home address and my home address (random I know!)

It turns out this is the Predicted Destinations assistant that learns your driving patterns. For example every Friday evening you go to Tesco’s, every Saturday afternoon you drive to a nearby village to visit your mother, and every 3rd Sunday of the month you drive out to that dogging…. ahem …you catch my drift. ;)

Ford describe it as:
6861345D-E65B-4CB0-8BB6-AC2163335572.jpeg

These are not routes you put in the Nav system, these are just your driving habits. What it’s trying to do is be helpful and tell you if there are any known traffic issues on your normal predicted drive for that time and day. When the alert pops up for 2 nanoseconds, it goes “bong bong” twice.

So how do you stop it? You tell it to stop suggesting driving routes and traffic conditions.

Go to maps and click on the Tools icon and then Settings:

Navigate down to “Notifications” and switch off “Predicted Destination Alert

539FF7C8-E511-447B-B591-094D6167025C.jpeg

…. and the “Bong-Bong, Bong-Bong” on startup will be no more :)

The Notifications section in the Nav menus is Bong-Bong central - so I recommend you review and turn off some of the other notifications like I have if you want a quieter ride :)
That is brilliant thank you @Wonky_Donkey I've been straight out and switched off that setting so hopefully Lexie won't bong me every morning, I need to show her who wears the trousers in this relationship!!! ???

On that same settings screen, I already have the setting on for red light and speed cameras warning, but she hasn't bong'ed me for those? That is a bong I would like, if a notification has popped up it's easy to miss as it's quite handy to be watching where you're going! Any ideas how I can get her to bong for those please?

If you look back through the forum probably about 500 of the 700 pages ‘discuss’ the crappy keys v original keys. ??

That’s not a topic of discussion I want to get dragged into again?

So speed camera bongs only seem to happen when you have an active route planned in the navigation system.

That’s a “bong bong” I wouldn’t mind being on all the time, alas it’s not working that way at the moment.

I’ve submitted it as a suggested software change as many other cars I’ve had are setup to alert regardless of having a route planned.

Would also be nice to have icons on the map for cameras too.

Ah, I see! Let's hope that is something they can change, driving this car it's so easy to suddenly find you're over the speed limit so a speed camera bong would be handy. To try to keep my licence clean I've now set up the warning to beep whenever I'm more than 3mph over the limit! To begin with I had it set as the actual speed limit but it drove me mad keep beeping as soon as I did say 41 in a 40!!!

I had a scare today as the ‘smart’ speed indicator on the driver instrument cluster said I was in a 60 limit, so hit the accelerator then suddenly realised I was actually in a 40…was lucky the speed camera I shot by was facing the other way!! Worth keeping in mind the speed recognition doesn’t always get it right!

If it's like my Toyota C-HR it only remembers the last speed limit sign it 'sees'. In my case there is a side road by a bend that has a speed limit sign of 20 mph, but the road I'm on is 30mph. It sees the 20 but there isn't a 30 sign for about a mile...

I’ve noticed this.

I had adaptive cruise control on, in a ‘temporary’ speed limit of 50mph, on the motorway with average speed cameras the other day.

I was impressed that it picked this up until, all of a sudden after about 4 miles, it changed to 70 and sent me whizzing past all the cars nearby (they must of thought I was just showing off).

It was still 50mph so I had to cancel it quick!

Leaving Hilton Park the speed sign recognition thought a 1 mile stretch of the M6 was 100mph last week. ?

Luckily I don't bother with intelligent cruise and just use adaptive so wasn't an issue for me.

So looks like I'll finally pick my MME up next week. I've been rocking around in a courtesy they gave me loan of whilst I wait. The courtesy is an AWD and mine only a RWD. Kind of gutted I have to give back the AWD. It's like, "look at what you could have had!".

Anyway, I was up checking my car on Friday and they have advised that all software updates and ecall fix complete. However, whilst PTI/ etis is showing software update, it is still showing recall required. I thought I'd give it a couple of days to get through the system but still the same.

Anyone experience the same? I would have thought recalls have to be clear by dealer before they release the car! I queried and they assured me it was done but I'm not happy taking the car whilst it's still flagging as an issue.

Thanks
