Tony, is it easy to fit? I usually screw up when fitting protectors for my phone and leave air bubbles inside.

Sorry- only just seen this.
Yes, it is easy to fit- made easier as it's much bigger than a mobile phone screen ? . The instructions are clear and plenty of vids on you-tube, delivery from the US was fast.

I see a few guys in the US are adding grill wraps - has anyone in the UK sourced these here?
Hi

I purchased a custom wrap from the USA about two weeks ago and have managed to find a charming and super professional wrap specialist to make my car stand out from the (small Mach-e) crowd and actually make the front of the car look "right", without the expense of buying the GT model!

King Wrap Customs in Harefield have been in the wrap business for 18 years. An hour and half later, after dropping my car off, my car was transformed. Very, very happy with the end result. You can contact them on ‭07393 905054‬. Ask for Costa. Alternatively you can e-mail them on [email protected].

Their charge excluding materials is £100+VAT. They said that they would do it for £160+VAT including the wrap, if you don’t want the hassle of ordering it separately from the USA for £70+£15 shipping.

If you really want the panels and badge taken off, so that they can get an even better wrap, then add £150+VAT labour for the considerably extra hassle involved! I didn’t think it was necessary as the finished job looked perfect to my eyes.

Here are some images of the work in progress and the finished wrap.

Meanwhile, there are quite a few OTA updates to come for us in the UK. I am still stuck on 1.7.1. Who knows when we would get any of it.
Still on 1.6.1 is it 1.7.1 that has the update to allow the battery to fast charge over 80%....that would be good for the long journeys? That's all I'm bothered about as its a pain in the arse...

I have a very thin line dead in the centre of the windscreen but thought it was where the two elements meet.
Me too, maybe there’s a loose connection, clears pretty quick though with heat on both sides.

****Note - For those totally happy with their car who don’t want a Mustang key and electric opening Frunk ignore this post. *****

If your still reading I assume, like me, that you would like a Mustang key (with a button to open the Frunk) and an electronic opening Frunk.

If this is the case, and in a last ditch effort to get this sorted, I have a plan.

I’m happy to put together some form of wording in a letter to send, en masse, to Lisa Brankin (MD Ford UK) and email to the Online sales Team.

I feel if we all email / post it at a certain time this might have the most impact?

If they don’t listen then I fear we will get nowhere.

I don’t want to keep raising negative issues about this absolutely amazing car and these are the main two issues I’m still concerned about.

Just to explain:

Electric Opening Frunk - This is top of my wish list as it is a pain having to open the passengers side and pulling the lever when the technology is there to make it much easier.

Mustang Key - Not too bothered about the Ford key it’s just that the Mustang key has the extra button to open the Frunk. Oh, and it irritates me that we are the only country in the World not to get one!

PAAK - I did want this, however, it is having so many problems in the US that I feel, on balance, it is probably more hassle than it’s worth.

If you ‘Like’ the post so I can see numbers of interested people I will update as we go along.

Dave - keep the faith - I think we have some movement on electronic Frunk opening in the UK

Over the past few days I've seen a few posts here and there of UK users reporting they have electronic frunk opening available on their cars. It's obviously something that is happening, but I'm sketchy on details on how this is rolling out.

What I've found out so far:
  • It doesn't appear to be via an OTA (at the moment)
  • It may only be on later built cars at the moment (cars built after June 2021)
  • The cars that have it are not GT models which have newer software on them
One thing that was interesting is that the shots taken in the car that does have it - the alert boxes have a thicker border on the right side with an "ok" in them. I have seen this different style of alert box on newer vehicles, but I know mine while totally bang up-to-date on software only has the thin borders on any alerts.

I checked FDRS last night to see if there was anything new for my Dec 2020 build car, but nothing showing.

I'll keep digging - but wanted to let you know before you pursued anything in regards to a group complaint.

Hi @Wonky_Donkey thanks for that.

I’ve seen a couple of posts myself and it does look promising.

Looks like it will only be from the screen though which is not much better than the lever. You would still have to be in the car to open it.

That is why I’m pushing for the key. ??

I may also have some good news on the keys too - although it doesn't mention a replacement program Ford have issued this notice to UK dealerships

...and if you're wondering what an "MX6T-15K601-DD" key looks like... lets just say it looks a little more Mustang like.

Unless the keys had a frunk release button I wouldn't use the key. I think it messes up the buttons on the doors. Since using the door buttons only the locks have been ok for me.

That's a dealer update rather than OTA (21P22 Software Calibration Update - https://insideevs.com/news/550986/ford-mache-faster-charging-above80/ ).

I've not seen anyone on here receive that yet, other than DIY efforts, but I've requested it with my skylight recall repair. That was supposed to happen this week but booking agent messed up the request and so I'm back of the queue again, ETA now end February.

Everyone who goes in for the roof or windscreen recall should get the Battery Control Module (BCM) update as part of the wider 21P22 Software Calibration update package.

I would insist they update every available install..... However I can imagine they will not do them all probably.
