Hiya

I installed it using dealership tools (FDRS) - I don’t think it’s been issued via OTA in the UK and Europe yet. Unfortunately I don’t have any info on when that OTA rollout might be but if you keep an eye on this thread I’m sure someone will pipe up when it starts ?
I'm sure lots of people will pipe up if we get ANY OTA updates. :) I've had nothing since 9th September this year.

Ok, thanks. I was just wondering if this type of major updates comes by OTA or is only available by using FDRS. It doesn't the matter if it takes some more time, I can wait.

So it looks like I'm no longer stuck on 1.6, the Dealer (Gates of Harlow) were brilliant to be fair to them, also the best valet job I've ever had by the way. So it was stuck on 40% but they sorted that out and installed Sync version 22087 (think that may be an oldish version having checked with Wonky but better than 1.6!!) Bonus was this morning I got in and the little tick was showing, also a message in the App saying I had on OTA overnight.... first one for a year! Not sure what version, etc but had a message in the car as well, so defo had one.

?that you are "unstuck" now. I know @Wonky_Donkey has done an update himself with FDRS but I have waited for those via OTA and my Sync version at the moment is 22177 Revision 473. My last update was 8 September. I noticed the other day that on my Ford account on the website they have changed the Sync "check update" page. It now tells you what your current software version is, which is the same as what I have in the car. So as far as I can make out, I am up to date (at least with UK releases).

Same for me. Come on Ford, we want parity with the U.S.

Brain fart moment. Of course it is the same. It's telling me what MY latest version is NOT what the latest available is.

the problem with that is that a lot of what our US friends have got/are getting aren't available/allowed in the UK. Updates are region & car specific and as is usual we in the UK seem to have the most restrictive rules of anywhere else.

We're not doing too bad at the moment with the SYNC software - it's primarily BlueCruise that's the biggest and most obvious missing feature when comparing to our US friends.

On the latest UK SYNC version (22228-539*) we have everything the US guys have with the exception of BlueCruise and YouTube streaming. I must admit I was surprised we got the Alexa integration as soon as we did - I thought they may hold off on that one for ages.

Obviously the other "missing" stuff is hardware option specific like Phone As A Key etc - but that was a build decision taken by Ford and isn't part of the SYNC software.

(*Note: SYNC Version 22228-Rev 539 is not available via OTA at the moment - rollout date TBC)

So when I got my car in September this year it had a few updates over the first few weeks but nothing since. I'm currently on 21297 build 253 (i think), will this update automatically or is it a dealer job?

The version might be there in the server side of things but the issues is that they're not pushing it OTA, or even versions before that one.

The big question is "What is the latest update received"?
As I said my last one was received in September. Is this the latest or has someone else (@Wonky_Donkey aside) got a newer (higher) version. Ford don't seem to kick them out to all cars at the same time, probably would crash their systems. I don't recall anyone coming on here saying that they have a higher version so I am assuming that my version is the last that was done OTA.

Well that's the thing, there's no real way of knowing how the Power-Up updates x.x.x numbers relate to the sync versions. My current version e.g. is 22177 but I know that there have been a lot of non-BC updates in the US. The last Power-Up I recall was either 2.6 or 2.7, but I still don't have all the sketch features, no games, no Frunk button. And no-one in Ford UK has a clue what's going on.
