I have just read the TSB 22-2166 again and towards the end it says

The US version TSB22-2150 is now superseded by TSB 22-2404 which has at the start in big fat bold ..

CAUTION: Due to Ford cyber security requirements, the module repair procedure outlined in this article is limited to a maximum of 15 attempts with a total of 20 days from the first time the application is run before the application is permanently disabled for each unique VIN. Make sure that all required and compatible tooling listed in this article is available prior to performing this procedure to reduce the chances of encountering this lockout state. If a lockout occurs, module replacement may be necessary. Note that even if the application is run successfully, the 20 day timer (allowing 15 attempts) continue to run in the background. If the module repair application has successfully completed in the past, it is not required to be run again.

So I guess the clock is ticking for me now unless they already had 15 attempts. Moral of the story if you are having this work done. Ensure they have all the cables/adapters mentioned in the TSB prior to giving then the key and ensure they can disable their AV and thoroughly read the TSB beforehand

I'm booked in for December but as you can see they don't sound confident.

Evans Halshaw Altricham after giving it its 18k valet service advised me go elsewhere for these complex updates. Ford have now set up an appointment with TrustFord Wilmslow for them to diagnose and if necessary replace the module. @SteveUk Have you had any further joy?

I think I will cancel my appointment with them and try Warrington pentagon Ford which is where I bought the car from. Thanks for the headsup.

It really is poor that a Ford car can't be worked on by a Ford dealership because it's "too complex" . Those idiots at alty old me to download the updates to a USB stick to install which of course didn't work.

So, got an update today from the Dealer, after being applied for 5 hours the update is at only 40% so hopefully it'll be done tomorrow...must be on dial up!

So, finally got the car back, brilliant valet job to be fair. The only difference I can see is I now have sketch (not sure i'll ever use it other than to leave abusive messages for passengers to see) and the volume bar is now horizontal rather than up/down. There is some bar with suggested tabs but other than that, nothing I can see. Forgot to add, Android Auto now works without the cable, which is nice!

They did say they had trouble getting it updated so maybe I'm halfway there, who knows. What else does the newest version have that I can look for??

I sold mine for cash to a dealer in Chorley. Now have a born. WBAC and Motorway are worth a shot, some folks are seeing a huge reduction in values, due to well everything! Might be worth holding on until the new year might be slightly better. ?

Yes my WBAC valuation for my 2021 SR RWD has dropped by about 6k in the last 3 months, frustrating while I wait for my bZ4X.

So I’ve been away for a while and haven’t been keeping an eye on available updates or OTA’s, but I had an APIM update become available on FDRS for my 2022 RWD today.

A bit of a chunky 15Gb update that took a good while to download and install, but i’ve gone from my factory build of SYNC 21297 Rev 253 to SYNC 22228 Rev 539.

Here’s what I’ve noticed that’s different so far….

- Sync system is much more responsive and feels snappy..

- Apps screen is now split into two tabs - “Apps” and “Entertainment”. Apps has all the stuff we had before, and Entertainment is where a new selection of games are stored.

- On the Ford nav system the elevation is now finally displayed in feet instead of yards! That’s bugged me for some time - so pleased to see that fixed.

- Offline map updates and Nav version change from 1.57.55 to 1.66.51

Hi, my MME SR 2022 is also still on factory build sync version 21297. Did this update came by OTA (and should I have some more patience) or should I contact a dealer, please?

I installed it using dealership tools (FDRS) - I don’t think it’s been issued via OTA in the UK and Europe yet. Unfortunately I don’t have any info on when that OTA rollout might be but if you keep an eye on this thread I’m sure someone will pipe up when it starts ?
