Just received from my dealer. Not good news

Good afternoon Grahame,

After a week of waiting Ford UK finally communicated about the OLEV Grant and its effect on pre-orders, unfortunately it’s not good news, they have investigated and as it stands currently the government will only accept grants back dated for orders that were placed between the 17th of February and the 18th of March that can be proven with digital orders signed and contracts for cars within those dates. Leaving most of Fords Mach-E pre-orders without the protection of the grant.

Ford are apparently lobbying the government to extend that back to cover all pre-existing preorders but there is no guarantee they get any support and as it stands that leaves us with no support from the government for all orders placed before the 17th of February. If anything develops from this I will let you know straight away.

On a brighter note, Vista is saying my first units from the first boat have arrived in Antwerp so yours cannot be far behind!
I have a signed contract. Signed and dated by me on 11th December 2020 and signed and dated by my dealer on the 17th of February. God knows where I stand with that!

I have a signed contract. Signed and dated by me on 11th December 2020 and signed and dated by my dealer on the 17th of February. God knows where I stand with that!
Surely they signed on Feb 17 so that is when it became effective? Fingers crossed for you.

Hannah has confirmed my car was on the MSC Immacolata which is currently at Le Havre next stop Antwerp.

I don’t get the logic in removing the PICG from orders placed in good faith in December and honouring it for orders placed in February ?

I can see the final straw rapidly approaching for me.

Unbelievable timing. Is this badly thought out or are the marketing team going to use this as a tool at a higher level to prove Ford need to do something quickly to retain customers?

It's the government's logic based on the principle that you should apply for the grant immediately after taking the order which ford didn't and now blame everyone but themselves.

I think there is no chance the government will back down on this. Why would they?

Ford are probably hoping some people will suck it up which I think is deluded and the rest will cancel.

If I hadn't been on this forum and was an ordinary person ordering online and then waiting for months and then got contacted by the dealer saying the grant no longer applies I'd be very angry.

MSC IMMACOLATA has left the berth and is at this moment transiting the inner port area of Le Havre. Next stop Antwerp. Due in about 1100 our time. Nearly there. Next hurdle to overcome is the "additional QC checks", a short boat trip to Southampton and then a road trip to our dealers.
