I've put a deposit down for a Mach-E

This charging story is why I'm seriously considering backing out of the Mach-E (now due in June) for a Kia EV6. The big key factor for this being that I'm not in a dire need to change my car right now, so I can potentially wait until next year if necessary.

Both have fairly similar ranges (the Mach-E fractionally longer but not by a huge amount) but the charging speed of the EV6 is potentially many times faster.

Who knows what the reality of charging either car will be, but with Ecotricity teaming up with Gridserve, it's highly likely that the current motorway charging fiasco will soon be coming to an end with higher voltage chargers that actually work!

The EV6 will be able to take advantage of the much higher charging speeds whilst the Mach-E won't.

Now, yes - I get it that for most of the time you simply won't need anything other than home charging - but for those times when you do, the ability to use 800V charging has the potential to save a lot of time!

if you're in that position then waiting until next year is probably what I would do.

The mache issues will be less likely with a new model year. The only loss will be the £3k grant if you are buying the mache models that qualify?

I still wouldn't rush to cancel.

I am with you at the moment going to hold on. I will have my test drive on the 17th and make the ultimate decision after that as I will know if it fits on my steep drive which is an issue I have had from the start with the low clearance.

...

I mean, how often does someone pull up at a petrol station and find it out of order or with just the one or two pumps!?
I totally agree with that sentiment and it came up multiple times in conversation with my family yesterday :)

The real world isn't capable on delivering on those charging promises yet.

After my experiences with Ecotricity I'm not convinced in their capability for a reliable high voltage charging infrastructure in the near future. I'm sure they'll get there eventually, but I think that is a while off. We also don't know how long the Kia will be able to charge at full speed for and there is no guarantee the Ecotricity charger will be available when needed. They may be doubling capacity, but 2 per service station isn't much. Other cars wont be charging at full speed either, so to get the charge speed you want you may have to queue at one of the small number of chargers able to charge that fast which sort of negates the point...

There are some realities with owning an EV at the minute and I'm 100% comfortable being an early adopter and really hope the high speed charging infrastructure is everywhere and reliable really soon. It's nowhere near there yet though, and by the time it is I'll probably be ready to trade up for the latest fast charging Mustang.

Partial VIN's (last 5 digits) ar most private digits, we have listet anonymous, exsample 138xx, in or Norwegian base, UK base

The 5 first ar different for Norway an other countrys, look to our and UK Wiki
I saw that but cant find anything usefull with just "15xxx" in it, makes 1000 possibilities which i won't try all ;)

Partial VIN's can be PM-ed if you dont want them public, no problem.

You must be right, it's the only logical answer.

What isn't logical to me is why put cars on one ship in Mexico, transport to Baltimore & unload them there; then wait on another ship they send later from Mexico to Baltimore to then reload then onto that? Seems highly inefficient to me but maybe there is some method in their madness that we can't just see!
What was I thinking talking about logical. See response from Concierge below, cars are still on the GSM and going to Antwerp via Africa...

It will interesting to see what happens then. She is due into Cotonou on the 15 April and then Lagos on 16 April. That in my mind is mis April. I think it will take at least 7 - 10 days
