MME RR ER RWD ?
Country flag
Hi Steve,

My dates are EXACTLY the same as yours. I am guessing the gobstatus of "in transit" dated 14/05 means it's on the move! And the vmacstatus of "compound in" dated 12/05 is when it was "registered" either at Flushing or Dagenham.

As @Tyldum says, our Norwegian friends are seeing "Stocked" once it arrives in Drammen before delivery. But then they have a bottleneck in Drammen with too many cars to process. I am guessing due to the 3 day delay we may see "stocked" when it actually arrives at dealers.
Hi @Coolcatshaft and @SteveUk

I've been away a couple of days, so great to comeback to some (potentially) exciting news ?

My F12 dates are identical to yours.

The other changes I had from my previous F12 status is that gobStatusDesc moved from "OffSite" to "InTransit" and the gobStatusDate is now 2021-05-14 (updated from some date in January!). I also had the ""Get ready for handover" appear on my Ford Account.

Will be interesting to see what my dealer says tomorrow ?

Cheers,
David

Looks like there's quite a few of us on here "in the same boat" so to speak ?
? ...more of a long road ahead (in my case the M11) :)

It's crazy to think mine is now only 112 miles away from me - about a 2hr trip on a transporter. This is worse than Christmas Eve as a 7yr old LOL

MME RR ER RWD ?

Hi all,

As the date for deliveries to start is (hopefully ?) almost on us, I'm debating holding up my delivery for a couple of days to have the car "Diamondbrite Protected".

I had this done on my last car (Outlander PHEV) and it was great plus, having read some of the U.S. threads about paint protection, it seems like a must to me.

My dealer has advised it's £399 and covers the exterior and interior.

Anyone else considering this ?

Cheers
David

I'm a great believer in paint protection products and used to have my cars treated by the dealership at delivery.

On the last couple of new cars I had I opted for a "self apply" product (lots of great ones to choose from) - and if you don't mind a couple of hours work you can save a fortune.

Can highly recommend this one:
https://diamondbrite.co.uk/product-category/primary/automotive/automotive-paintwork/

...and the great thing is you can re-apply after a few months to top up your protection

sitting in my Kitchen Diner tonight, catching up on the Sunday Telegraph, I was watching a programme about Tutankamen (sp?) on Channel 4, very interesting btw. Every commercial break there was a short clip and mention of the MME. Now watching 'Bangers and Cash' on FV 25 and there is a longer clip on the MME every break...

Your cars are coming! Timed for a big launch as I predicted a while ago...

Sadly when my MME arrives in the autumn no-one will give a fig! Except for me of course!

Hopefully it will bring customers into the dealers.

Although I suspect many will be shocked at the price.

Sorry realised that the link I posted earlier only has the aftercare products on it.

This is what I have used before - and it's also what the dealerships use... this product is available online for about £10-£15. There is enough in the bottles for a single whole vehicle application.

I became friends with the valeting guy who worked at a dealership and he said the markup on the application of these products is crazy. Your post confirms that! He gave me my first two bottles for free, and I've used it ever since. (why does that sound like a dodgy drug deal?)

*While I highly rate these, and I am happy to apply them to my own cars, please do consider if it's the right product for you. I don't want to be held accountable for any damaged paintwork on any new shiny Mach-E's

I was quoted 1500 for the kamikaze ceramic coating which the detailing specialist recommended, was undecided because of the price , might consider the diamondbrite now

Just wondered, for those that had already tracked their cars over to Antwerpt did you lose any information on the ship when it was out in the Atlantic?

The reason I ask is I've been told my car is on the GRANDE BALTIMORA which I was tracking but since its now left America all the websites I had been using just say last data received from last week?

Cheers

Oh dear. Looks as if my anticipation over the weekend was unjustified. My source appears to got it wrong. I had compound in 7/5 ANTWERP. Next movement on my Ford account via F12 was compound in 11/5 and then compound in 12/5. My source told me that my car was on TOSSA on 11/5 and arrived in Dagenham on 12/5 which corresponds with the dates via F12. I have just had a printed update of vista which gives my car compound in 12/5 Flushing. Looks like I have a bit longer to wait.

Yes that is normal unless you pay extra to have to satellite tracking upgrade. Standard tracking just uses land based AIS stations. Mid Atlantic you will lose tracking. You should pick it up again in the western approaches, just a little south west of Lands End.

I did wonder that as a few sites I went on tried to get you to sign up to see more information, also it shows the crossing as taking around 12/13 days guess that's normal but does seem a long time?

Thats a shame with your car, really hoping people start getting them very soon!
