With Ford pass activation is it normal that I keep getting an error due to a technical fault? I don’t have the car yet, it’s in Antwerp.
To activate the car from the app you need someone in the car to accept your request. If noone accepts your request it times out to an error. You might be lucky at some stage and get someone who will accept the activation but then again you might not.

Our dealer offered to order some mustang keys but it was something like £300 (maybe more I can’t remember) worth asking them but obviously depends how much it bothers you
Dealers have been told not to get customers Mustang keys as these DO NOT have the movement sensor which is a requirement for UK insurance rating. If you get one and use it and your car is stolen because of relay theft your insurance will be invalid. I did hear a while back that Ford were working on a Mustang fob with a movement sensor. Whether those of us who have got our cars will get on if it ever happens is a different matter. No matter what a crock of ? the key is, my advice is get over it. I keep mine in my pocket so I don't have to look at it. It only comes out when I change trousers.

Does anyone know if departure times works without being connected to a charger - can I for example set it to cool down my car for a time when I leave work without being in charge

Hi @cleave

I am fairly certain that Departure Times are linked to a "charging location" and rely on using the charger supply to cool down the car rather than using the battery. This therefore maximises the battery range.

Hope that helps - and perhaps someone else (more knowledgeable than me!) may be able to confirm that ?

Cheers
David

Thank you Dave - yes I think you are right as it works fine when connected - shame as it would be nice to get in the car after work with it cooled down

Yeah that’s what I thought. I didn’t take up his offer haha. Not worth that much, especially without the motion sensors etc. It’s just a small issue but still an issue. Would be great if they address it in time

Hi all,

Re: Failed OTA Updates

I spoke with the MME Support Team about this and they were helpful but couldn't find any information on this, so they have escalated it to the Technical Team.

Has anyone with Failed Update(s) had any success since?

I'll let you know once I hear any further news
David
Just five or six fails, no success yet.

From my personal experience...having an activated FordPass...I found the following:

vehicleDateTime only really changes when someone actually starts the car.
tappsDateTime changes any time you request anything from the vehicle. e.g. every time I refresh the FordPass app, this changes to the exact time I did that.
updateDate is a strange one. Sometimes this matches a FordPass request, sometimes it doesnt. So not really sure.

I notice a lot of people say that tappsDateTime changes when someone starts the vehicle, but that's not been my experience. If that is the case than my car hasn't moved/started since the 18/06/2021 which is a bit troubling seen as my car landed in Antwerp on the 10/06/2021, I have no idea where the car is, I get regular changes to my TappsDateTime although I am still waiting for some kind person to activate my FordPass. Sooo frustrating

I have had nothing, I have ordered the car through my company car contractor who don't even know what a VIN number is, I contacted TrustFord who are dealing with the order and they gave me the VIN which I used on the tracker to assertion when it landed in Belgium, I have been told by TrustFord this is looking more like September for the car, given that the car was built in March this is a crazy length of time

I use the start function on the App, it runs for 5 mins and it cools the car down to the temperature set when you turned off. Give that a go, works for me.

I believe that most other people who came in on the GNJ have already had the email saying it's in Flushing, so yes, not really looking great for you at the minute, unless of course it wasnt your email used for the order process.

I’ve not had any at all, so wouldn’t even know! Not a single update. Emailed the concierge team last week about it… just getting crickets ?
