Hi All - fantastic forum and great to see people enjoying their Mach E's.

I have a question re. order and delivery dates.

I placed my order on the 11/3/21 (very late compared to most of you).

My expected delivery date is now beginning of November.

There is a entry of Modem Authorisation (Accepted Date) 8/6/2021 on the manage order (ford site | Manage Order).

This date is similar to the date I chased them for a delivery date. This also happens to be roughly 20weeks from November. Do I take it the dealer dropped the ball here? and hadn't confirmed the order? They are saying that it was ordered on the 11/3/21. Is order to delivery really taking 40weeks, as on their website it says 20-23 weeks.

Any help appreciated.

this sounds strange. Have you asked your dealer for the VIN? If you have this you can use the tracker (https://www.whereismymme.com/) to get all the details including current whereabouts and build data…

Hi all,

Just a brief update on the "Failed OTA" issue

I spoke with the MME Customer Support Team yesterday, and the basic outcome was that they had escalated this issue last week with the Technical Team (not sure whether they are in the UK or US).

Sadly, it appears that the Technical Team do not respond to the MME Customer Support Team, but they would send out a "new" update in due course ?

I did not have a lot of confidence in this, and this was proved to be correct in that I have just had another "Update Failed - Will Retry As Soon as Possible" notification in FordPass.

This has, in my case, been going on for two weeks now and I plan to post this to the Ford account later tomorrow, to see if we can get a resolution to the issue.

Before doing so, I just thought I'd check to see (a) how many of us still have issues with OTA updates, and (b) if anyone has had success with the recent update (i.e. in the last week) ?

If they don't sort this out, we will all have to go to our dealers for updates ?

Thanks,
David
According to my Ford Pass app I had a successful update today - but I don't know if it has just been catching up after handover last week?

I haven't noticed any notifications on the big screen in the car though - should I? Is there a way I can check what update version I have?

Good shout about those settings.

Have had a look at mine and they seem to be the same.

I’m just concerned about wifi strength. In the wifi network my network shows up twice! One shows strength as fair and the other shows as excellent. Which one to believe?!?

Do you have a dual band network? 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz? I think one works more reliably through walls but I can’t remember which.

EDIT: You do have dual band as I have the same sky router, maybe try switching which the car is connected to, more bars doesn’t always mean a reliable data throughput on the network.

In the same boat as you. I've had 5 failed updates in the past 5 weeks and no successful ones.

Just had another one today.

Not sure how this is meant to work. The vehicle is all connect to it's own modem and my home wifi which is on all the time.

Does the vehicle disconnect from the internet after a certain time when parked?

Also note that my vehicle will not connect to any other mobile hotspot, anyone else tried that.

I know this may sound like a silly question and I am certain someone will take umbridge but I will ask anyway. To those of you who are getting notifications of failed updates, are you certain you have your sync set up properly. I have received 2 without issue. This is what my sync looks like.

Thanks for the tip. I hadn’t actually thought of that?

When I’ve tried deleting one before it just removed both of them. I’ll have a closer look next time I’m in the car.

Thanks

Hi fozzy,
Do you have an authorisation date?
Is that close to your order date?
I'm going to have a chat with the dealer tomorrow as I can't believe it's a 40week wait..I'd rather the dealer said, we made a mistake rather than string me along.

very strange that it’s been over a month sitting in the same status. I think I saw somewhere on the US posts that the factory could be switching over to model year 2022 which reduces capacity, and I also see that you’ve ordered a SR AWD, which is the least popular model. Given that they schedule production in batches (which includes batching together RHD vehicles) you may just be unlucky with the schedule…..

Hi,
I've ordered the standard range RWD..I thought that would be the most common choice..but that doesn't explain the delay. I don't usually change my car's for a while but this is a return to ford, after a few other manufacturers and this hasn't been a great experience so far. I understand it's a new car but communications could be alot better.

Hi @portlandg

That's a really valid point - thanks for showing the settings on your MME.

I've checked and my settings are identical (bar the Speech Recognition Feedback !) and my FordPass Account is active ... very active with Failed Update messages ?

I've also re-checked my Wifi Router and I can see my car logged in tonight when I started it.

Hopefully we'll get to the bottom of this - as @Coolcatshaft said, it's interesting that you and Tone seem to be OK and had the dealer apply the eCall update ?

Cheers,
David

Hi @Mercury8

I have a similar issue with my Asus Mesh routers.

It's interesting as the router gives both the channels (2.4 and 5ghz) the same SSID so the MME should only be seeing one network - it should attach to that network and leave it up to the router to determine the best channel (I think from my limited knowledge of such things ?)

That's why when you delete one of the channels, both are removed .

Hope that makes sense ?

PS: the 5ghz is faster but has a shorter range ...... sounds a bit like a BEV ?
