The day has finally arrived! All collected and home (now just waiting on SSE to get the charger installed ??‍♂) Fordpass wouldn’t connect at the dealership but did after stopping mid route (?). Averaged 3.5miles/kwh over 80 miles of mixed motorway and B road. Loving it so far.

I read an interesting post by @ProximusAl in mid-July that Vehicle last started on (tappsDateTime) was when a command was sent to the car and Vehicle Date Time (vehicleDate Time) was the real date & time when the car was last started. At the time my experience didn't support that assumption but since my car arrived in the UK this is definitely the case. This morning I have sent 3 Activation requests from the app and each time Vehicle last started on (tappsDateTime) updated.
It's strange, now I have the car and drive it every day, my tapps data doesn't change! ?

Hi all,

Just a brief update on the "Failed OTA" issue

I spoke with the MME Customer Support Team yesterday, and the basic outcome was that they had escalated this issue last week with the Technical Team (not sure whether they are in the UK or US).

Sadly, it appears that the Technical Team do not respond to the MME Customer Support Team, but they would send out a "new" update in due course ?

I did not have a lot of confidence in this, and this was proved to be correct in that I have just had another "Update Failed - Will Retry As Soon as Possible" notification in FordPass.

This has, in my case, been going on for two weeks now and I plan to post this to the Ford account later tomorrow, to see if we can get a resolution to the issue.

Before doing so, I just thought I'd check to see (a) how many of us still have issues with OTA updates, and (b) if anyone has had success with the recent update (i.e. in the last week) ?

If they don't sort this out, we will all have to go to our dealers for updates ?

Thanks,
David
All mine have failed also for the last few weeks.

Happy days. Fingers crossed I will collect my one Saturday. Exactly the same as yours by the looks of it!

If I remember correctly the towbar is a dealer supplied option and NOT a factory fit so you will have to speak to your nominated dealer.
hi

i picked up a rwd ext range mustang 2 weeks ago and have been waiting for the towbar and electrics to be delivered to the Ford dealer. They arrived today. Now waiting for it to be fitted.
does anybody know how the rear sensors are turned off while the towbar is being used? On my previous car a Ford kuga there was a button on the dash which turned off the sensors I.e. stopped the rear alarms going off whilst the towbar was in use. They must have thought about that I hope !,
!

any knowledge out there?

Shouldn’t think so. There’s a setting which allows you to adjust the lights for driving on the left or on the right.
That should be sufficient.

I think that only works with AWD vehicles with the full adaptive lights, unfortunately it looks like @hellcatpete has an RWD model with just the auto high-beam lights (like me).

But there are so many unknowns still - the options are still in the software in mine even though I don’t have them - so I guess there’s a small chance it could work.

If not it‘s a trip to Halfords for some of those stickers you put on your lights to mask the passenger side lights. (link) for the princely sum of £9.99 ;)

I see that our US friends have been getting an OTA update recently with Power up version 1.6.0. Given that we are only only 1.4.0 at the moment hopefully we should be getting our OTA update(s) soon. It will be interesting to see how many people have a "failed" update.

Continuing the discussion regarding those of you who have had failed updates and have reported the failures to Ford with no apparent acknowledgement, there is another way that you can inform them.
If you touch the car icon on the touch screen, go to settings, general and scroll down you will see a sub heading named "submit feedback". Touch that tab and scroll down you come to a heading " software update. Touch that and you get to "wireless update not working". Touch that and then submit. If Ford have gone to the trouble of programming this way of submitting feedback you would be forgiven for assuming that they would take notice. Mind you, as it is not advertised anywhere and is buried in sub menus perhaps they hope that no one would find it. WRONG. Give it ago, it might help.

The last update I, and a couple of others, received was on the 6 July and was the OTA update for the ecall fix and it included Power up 1.4.0. You have the same software version as I have so it would seem you are up to date. What the Power up versions update I have no idea. I didn't notice anything changing when I applied the update from 1.3.0 which occurred on 7 June

Hi all,

Quick Update re: Failed OTA Updates

I received the above message the other day from the Ford Account on the forum.

Not quite what I was expecting or hoping for ?

Does anyone have the email address for the UK Executive and/or Head of Customer Service? I'll follow up with them and see if there's any news. Sadly, it's been three weeks since this was first raised and escalated as an issue ?

Many thanks
David ?
Hi David - apologies if I've missed this, but have you shared any of this with Hannah in the Mach E Concierge team?
