OK gang, ready for another long one?

Here is my response to Mandy following the email she sent Friday:

Given your answers, and the fact that the car is going to improve with OTA updates over the next 12 months, I’m happy to wait for most of the points I’ve raised. Although I should point out that I’m not satisfied with the fact that all these were part of the original selling points and the fact they would not be available, should have been pointed out before we purchased the cars.

I would also like to raise a couple of points relating to what I feel are still currently outstanding issues:

1. Ambient Lighting - I note you are waiting for an answer to this but, in the meantime, I have to say I do not see this as just a ‘nice to have’ feature of my car. This was, very much, a major part of what sold it to me.

What you must bear in mind is that I only had the Ford website available when I chose this car and paid my deposit.

There were no cars available to test drive or even have a look at. This makes it even more critical that the information on the website was correct. Which we know it wasn’t.

4. Walk Away Lock - This does not work as you have described. It has never worked on the car.

I’ve shared your response with the UK forum members and not one has been able to get this to work.

Would you please readdress this issue.

7. Out Of Stock Items - I don’t find this a satisfactory answer. You have advertised the items I want at 25% and 30% off for the last 6 months. Due to our error I have not been able to order these items.

You are now telling me to go to my dealer who is going to charge me full price.

This is unacceptable.

I hope we can sort something out here where I can get the items at the reduced price.
Hi @davkd

Good response from you ?

Do you happen to know if Mandy is part of the Mustang Mach-E team, or concierge or Ford CRC?

Her earlier response looked "comprehensive", even if it didn't answer all the issues you raised ......

I've never seen a response like that previously so could be helpful to have her contact details, if that's possible ?

Cheers
David

Is anyone else getting this blue line on their drivers display when using the built in sat nav. I have no idea what it is nor do our friends in the US and presumably nor do Ford as I reported it to the tech guys via Hannah and have not heard anything back. I'm talking about the thicker line, I know what the thin blue line around the car is. It is not there all of the time. Just pops up randomly.

The forum consensus seems to be that it should appear when there's an upcoming lane change or lane split that the driver should be preparing to do. Further detail is available on the large center display when that is the case.

But if you use maps through Android Auto instead of the vehicle's built in nav, there's a big that causes this to flicker on and off at random times.

Hi @macchiaz-o

That's really helpful thanks ?

I noticed that today a couple of times when on a motorway here and it seemed to be when the motorway split into two.

I wasn't sure if that was the case, but you seem to have confirmed that for us in the UK ?

Hope all is good with you!

Just had a successful update

Hi @portlandg

Yes, I also had a successful update as you showed (finally!) whilst down in deepest Dorset for a few days. Along with the latest FordPass (3.27.1) we now have the SecuriAlert facility ?

I note in the US there are various other facilities introduced with the FordPass 3.28 (and presumably further OTA updates) ?

Just a quick question for you, if I may.

Did you check the Version number on the Nav Settings/System Info screen? Mine still shows 1.37.71

The Sync version still shows as 21139 and revision 263.

Many thanks as ever,
David

Hi David,

This is Mandy’s title:

I think it’s a standard email but if you use her name it will get to her.
She does seem to escalate things to get us results. ??

Not taking the p**S here but Aldi has a dent repair kit in the centre isle at the moment.

Not too expensive and did appear to be very comprehensive.

Could be worth a look?
Not sure I would trust myself here with that. It’s also on the crease of the door too to further anger me .

Has the dent broken the paint and/or is there a sharp crease in the metal? If not, any reputable bodyshop will be able to pull out the dent using a glorified rubber sucker thing and you won't be able to tell the difference. I do feel for you. You go out of your way (literally) in a car park to minimise the risk and you get a k*******d parking next to you even in an empty car park. This has happened to me in the past. Perhaps they have to use an adjacent car to be able to park straight in a space?

Sentry mode on a Tesla was one of the considerations for getting a Model Y but a proper 360 degree camera mode on the Mach-e made up my mind. It's a pity Ford can't incorporate a sentry mode/dashcam mode with the existing cameras. If it's hardware dependent I'd even pay in the future for some kind of kit/retrofit. Would be even better if just a software upgrade.
It’s just dented in. Not chipped, scratched, just dented but on the crease of the door which makes it harder.
Hopefully they can pull this out without a second thought. Its amazing, the car is beautiful from many angles but your eyes always train on the damage.
I would love to have some form of CCTV that recorded the front and back of the car, and the wings. It could help massively in identifying a culprit who did it and drove off.

Hi @Ant379

Yes, if you're not sure then best to leave it to the professionals ?

But that is so upsetting in the first place, I'm not surprised you are frustrated and angry. Some people just don't seem to care and show due respect to other people's property.

I am paranoid about parking my car - always try to find a really good "defensive" spot but you just can't account for the behaviour of others.

I hope you get it sorted out quickly and satisfactorily ?

@SteveUk - can you recommend any other DC rapid points in a safer neighbourhood near the airport for @TonyA ?

This is the filtered map list of CCS rapid chargers around Manchester Airport with a user reliability score of 10/10

IMG_6670.jpeg
If you're coming from Hull and coming clockwise around M60 you might as well give Tesco Extra in Stockport a go. Zapmap currently reports problems with charger but Tesco is right next to the M60. Also there's a charger in car park in Cheadle, Massie St 5mins from M60. If you do try the latter let perhaps you would let me know, I live 10 mins away and haven't seen a MME yet - ordered blind back in March and still waiting.

It’s a long shot this but on the main screen, I notice a similar vertical bar, but thinner, when satnav is active. It’s a visual representation of how the traffic fares ahead of you with colours suggesting if you will hit congestion etc.
not sure if this is a similar thing . The bar is certainly contained within the nav window on your screen shot so not like it is a screen fault.

I’ll check mine in the morning and let you know.

Cheers mate.

yes it’s frustrating. I always opt to park next to a more expensive car, a brand new or nearly new car or a car that looks like it has a proud owner.
Unfortunately you can’t help if someone parks next to you in your absence.

it also doesn’t help how all the carpark spaces just don’t seem to accommodate today’s vehicles. Most cars now are the size of the MME but spaces still only accommodate an old fashioned fiesta.

forget having wide spaces for car proud people, it’s also difficult if you have a car seat you transport from the pram to the isofix. Been there and suffered those struggles too. No company wants to offer wider spaces - even though for 95% of their business, the Car Park is never full anyway.

Funnily enough this happened to me today. Driving from Essex to Weston-super-Mare, and back. Never had it before, and definitely not when I done the same journey about 5 weeks ago.
It seem to appear when passing or going through junctions with multiple exits. Once pass it would disappear.
