Resigned to the fact that this is the closest I'm going to get to having a Mustang key fob. ??

MME RR ER RWD ?

Road trip number 2 in Black Beauty part 2.
The hotel we are staying at was recommend in a review by Ginny Buckley from electricfying.com and is the Beech Hill Hotel and Spa on the east coast of Lake Windermere halfway between Newby Bridge and Windermere. One of the reasons coming here was that they have BP Pulse chargers. Only 7 (2)and 22 (2) KW but great for an overnight top up. Only problem was that 3 of the 4 spaces had been ICE'd. Fortunately my cable was long enough to reach from the charger to the car. When I mentioned this to reception and expressed my concerns about getting a slot after a day out they said they would put a reserved sign up for me. This appeared this morning. This hotel gets better and better. If anyone else wants to give it a go then I would tell them you will be arriving in an EV and they should reserve you a space.
By the way, 340 miles, M5,M6 and no sightings of another MME. Where is everyone hiding?
Hi @portlandg

- Some are hiding on the M27 - went "in convoy" with one last weekend for about 10 miles - anyone on this forum? ?

- Thanks for the hotel recommendation - may try that out next time we go to the Lake District ?

- Re: your previous post on Ecotricity chargers, they are dire! We stopped at Fleet Services Northbound on the M3 in the torrential rain last Saturday - only 2 awful old chargers with very narrow spaces for one of the main M3 service areas, both in use and people queueing. We abandoned and had to get home across country as would have been touch and go going round M3, M25 and M23.

- Along with my continuing gripe at Shell Recharge - currently their three fast chargers covering East Sussex, Kent and a bit of Surrey (some 2,400 square miles at a rough estimate) are stll not working (after a number of weeks).

I'm not one for loads of regulation, but surely there has to be some degree of oversight on companies purporting to offer EV charging as some sort of lip-service to their ECO credentials. If the government is insisting (quite rightly) that they must provide smart chargers with contactless payment etc., they should insist on a guaranteed up-time - and possibly a webcam to detect ICE cars and issue them with a fine ........ big brother is watching you ??

Cheers
David

No stiff of an OTA at the moment......
I didn’t realise OTA’s got you so excited ….. oh you meant sniff … LOL - my bad ;)

My OTA’s have tended to be at the end of the first week of the month (except Power-Up 1.4.0 which was delayed by a week) - still waiting here, but if it follows the “normal” release schedule it should be very soon.

Obviously will be different for everyone as we are all on different release cycles depending on model and delivery date.

Big Red’s OTA dates so far….
06/07/21 - Power-Up 1.3.0 & #21C16 eCall Software Update
16/08/21 - Power-Up 1.4.0 & SecuriAlert
07/09/21 - Power-Up 1.6.0 & Bug fixes
??/10/21 - Power-Up 1.7.1

So I ended up with two of the Ford boot liners - dealer error…. If anybody wants one and is happy to come and collect it (Wiltshire, near Chippenham) let me know and we can sort something out. I got it for free so it’s going for free!

the tone of my rear parking beep proximity sensor now appears to have changed! it sounds cheaper and higher pitched.

I am interested if it is the flap over sort, otherwise I've already got the heavy flat one.

(If not taken already)

Mine flicks between the normal “slow” beep to a “speedier” high pitched one every now and again. (and I’m not referring to the speed increase as you get closer to an object)

It’ll stick for a few days - then revert back to the old one again. Every day is a surprise of which beep you’ll get ?

I took this video back in June 2021…

Mine does this- but isn't it meant to do so? The nearer I am to an obstruction the more frantic the beeping gets. Very useful imo.

Ah no - sorry I’ve amended my original post to avoid confusion.

It’s not the the tones get quicker when you get close to an object - that’s how it’s supposed to work - the “new” tones are more rapid and shrill overall in comparison to the usual ones.

I’ll see what mood my car is in now and see if I can get a video to compare the two.

And she’s changed her mind again - we’re back to old tones (in new video below)…

The easiest way to describe the difference is when you get the closest to an object.

Old tones = single solid note
New tones = solid tone with rapid pips

Hi @SteveUk

That's good news re: your heating ?

Is it working with e-heat or without e-heat selected ...... my heating appears to have gone backwards and is not working as previously - very confusing ?

Thanks
David

I have been testing it. Temp set to full on both sides and fan set to level 2 to 4. Pointing to screen and middle.

Never any heat when EHeat is off. Well certainly non so far in the 2 weeks of my testing.

Turn eheat on and it heats up within minutes.
