I’m seriously considering not having this done.

As the letter says, it is safe to continue driving, and can be done at a time convenient to me. It’s convenient when I sell it. My dealer is 60 miles away. I have a dashcam that’s wired in to the overhead light thing, and do not wish to remove all of that.

Im also worried that “It‘ll never go back in right”.

I’ve already updated my software as I have an FDRS subscription so really tempted to ignore, and the dealer can get it done when I trade it in in a couple of years.
I'm also seriously considering not having it done. My dashcam mount is well and truly glued to the screen, and while it can be temporarily unplugged, if they managed to break the screen, I'd then have the cost of replacing the mount (although I'd push Ford to cover the cost!) - also I'm afraid if the dealer does it, it's not the sort of job they're used to doing, so it might be more dodgy, or leak after they've finished!

As far as affecting insurance is concerned, I think the main issue would be you could be held negligent if you've ignored a recall that proved to be the cause of an accident. So in our cases, if the screen or pano roof suddenly flew off and caused a crash - which isn't very likely seeing as the cars are deemed safe to drive in the meanwhile.

I will get the software updates anyway when they eventually manage to source my replacement 12v battery!

Yes, I've got a Nextbase mount securely attached to the glass. :( My dealer has a demo and a private number plate version with three of the letters forming their initials so I would hope they do those first before letting loose on customers' cars.

You will probably find they will "practice" on customer's cars first to iron out any issues, of which I am sure there will plenty, and then do theirs when they proficient. Having said that, I still believe that the recall will be done by a specialist windscreen company.

I got the Nextbase 422GW with a rear cam that attaches to the side of the main unit. My only complaint is the parking mode is too sensitive and triggers a protected recording file whenever closing a door/boot! But formatting the memory card every couple of weeks seems to clear it.
I used their fitting service, can't remember the name of the company they use now and obviously there will be different fitters in your part of the country but I found my fitter to be very efficient and knowledgeable and did a really good job! Also I can't remember the technical issue now but it needed an adaptor that wasn't included in the hard-wire kit, but luckily he had one on his van!
Hi @Smuddell , Thanks for sharing. a silly question is there a way if we can record while its parked in a car park. I mean if anyone toucher the car or came close. Some vandals around @ our super market carparks. Can I get this fitted at Halfords they are offering the bundle (front, rear and fitting) for £293 or I should contact Ford.

Using eheat sparingly. Basically turn it on and off in short bursts.

Did a 40 mile drive today and got 3m/kwh. I think that's very good for current temperatures.

Most of their higher range models have a "parking mode" which triggers whenever it detects movement, as in vibration. So it wouldn't pick up people just coming close to the car, it would only start recording if the car is physically touched hard enough for the sensor to pick up. The sensors are really sensitive though, mine are on the lowest setting and still trigger a recording whenever I open/close a door/boot.
I saw somewhere either on here or a Facebook group that Halfords won't touch the Mach E but that was in the early days so might be worth a try. Or buy direct from Nextbase website and select their fitting service which costs more than Halfords but they come to you, and are more experienced as the are fitting dash cams and black boxes all the time!

Halfords won't fit dash cams to Mach-e's. I asked them 2 weeks ago.

Instead I went direct to Nextbase who have their own mobile fitters. Their prices are very good- I ordered front and rear cameras, a fitting kit and so on. Including fitting the cost was £210. They've been doing a few special offers, well worth a look. And they CAN fit to Mach-e's!

Because I’ve been a very good boy this year Ive asked Santa for a Nextbase 622 - so if anyone is getting one fitted over the coming weeks by one of their fitters I’d be interested to hear which point/supply they tap it into.

Mines being fitted on Jan 7th. If I don't see where he taps into I'll ask him.

I don't know what he tapped into but he needed a micro 3 adapter which doesn't come with the Nextbase hard-wire kit. Luckily my installer had one of these on his van!

I know the pros and cons of reduced range in the winter but my RWD ER has taken a proper hit.

Estimated mileage (shortly after reset) - 227@ 100%

Miles/KWh - between 1.9 and 2.7 depending on preconditioning.

Just wondered if this is what everyone else is seeing and what I should expect or is something wrong?

TIA
I've got the same model and getting the same results or worse.

Mine is the same model as yours and at this precise moment in time at 82% mine is estimating 265. That's after charging to 85% this morning and resetting before leaving for work. My commute is only 8 miles, heated steering wheel on, seat heater on (1 bar) and e-heat on auto (1 bar), temperature set to 18 degrees, outside temperature 10 degrees.

What we have to remember is that some cars might have had the software update that makes the Range Indicator less pessimistic - so it might be even tougher to compare what’s being quoted.

Has anyone had issues with the trip computer seemingly not resetting?

I find that if I make a journey with a short stop and set off again the distance driven does not reset to 0 although the time driven does. This then has the effect of calculating wild miles/kwh numbers! (Like 7+)

I am turning off the car, leaving it locked then coming back. Think school run, trups to shop etc. Maybe around 10 minutes of idle time befire I return then drive off.
