Let us know how the windscreen replacement goes. I’m still nervous to take it in incase that mess something up.
I’ve not had any problems with the windscreen. So very reluctant to do anything.
I've just had the recall letter today for the roof replacement.

Well, AEB saved me yesterday. Was signalling to turn right at a roundabout which was a turn right only lane, with a Renault Zoe in front of me which was also signalling to turn right. If you imagine it, I was at six o' clock, there were roads at 9 o'clock, 11 o'clock and 3 o'clock. The Zoe started to go forward indicating to leave at 3 o'clock. This was all at approx 10-15mph. (They were a bit slow). I started to follow and then they suddenly jammed on the brakes to give way to traffic on the left at the 11 o'clock road to let out a bus that wasn't even moving. Nobody moved from the 11 o'clock road as I imagine they were working out what to do. My car slammed on the brakes with beeps and red flashing displays. I sounded the horn as we were both stopped in the middle of a busy traffic island. They eventually moved off and then I was treated to some erratic driving from them switching between lanes at random in front of me. When safe to do so I used the Mach e power to overtake as I didn't know what they were going to do next.

Normally, I like uneventful journeys. :)
It sounds like "collision assist" that deployed.

I've just had the recall letter today for the roof replacement.

Likewise- I phoned my dealer in early January to arrange mine and they were fairly unhelpful. Now I've got the official letter (rather than the e-mail as I got a few weeks back) I'm going to insist they expedite this recall. They say that I will be given a loan car, all updates will be applied and finally the car will be cleaned and fully charged. So it's going in filthy and low charge ?

It's not a roof replacement. All they are doing is removing the headliner, putting some more gunk between glass and bodywork and replacing the headliner.

The dealers can't call you in for the work until they have ALL the parts that they need. And they are in short supply. Also what they haven't told you is that to carry out the software updates your car needs a minimum of 75% charge so if I was you, and I am going to do this, make sure your car has enough charge. If you give it to them with a low charge then they will need to spend the first day charging it

Hi there all.
Been a couple of months since I last posted, but have been regularly looking to see what's going on.
Regarding updates, I'm still showing software 1:17 and mine was one of the 1st to have been built. 28th Nov 2020, picked it up 2nd July 2021. So still not sure what and how software updates are downloaded/updated or whatever.
I've been communicated via email and fordpass that I'm due for both panoramic roof and windshield!!! to be carried out, both at least 4-6 weeks ago. Booked in at my dealer, where I brought car from regarding panoramic roof as this was the 1st email. Originally told not sure about that, as they only know about the windshield!!. Then realised about roof, so they booked it in. Roof was never done, as they haven't been trained and they want to try on demonstrator car 1st, but the software which also said would be done has been. Which I think is true because my range became a lot higher when charging than previous. When picking my car up and trying to rearrange another date regarding the roof I mentioned that the windshield might as well be done the same time, as I've now received notification of that.
The woman looked at me and said, I've not heard of that, the same woman who previously told me 4 weeks earlier that she only new of the windshield!! and not the panoramic roof. This is the same dealership I brought the car from, who were always telling me bear with us, that this is all new and is bit of a learning curve.
Anyway I'm in lanzarote at the moment, have been for a week and still got two weeks to go. My car is sitting in Gatwick for the whole three weeks and two days. Hopefully I will be able to report that on my return, I simply jump in and off we go and can report that leaving it for an extended period is OK. It was sitting at 50% battery when I left it, which if I'm correct is what is suggested for any long term up to 30 days. I'm sure I find out my return.lol
Apologies for long post

What dealer is this Chris? I'm about to book my first service and was going to use Gates Ford in Harlow, anyone have any experience of them or having a service?

Annoying things that happen with my Mach-E - Episode #2064….

When you use the rear wiper washer while driving, and when you get home you open the boot to see that the washer water has sprayed all over the boot through the side vent.

How? I have no idea! Is the water pump located in that area? Is the washer fluid line in that area somewhere?

Back to the dealer we go again! ?

Looks like the pipe has failed where it passes from the c-pillar to the boot lid.

Excellent - should be a fun trip. If you're looking for good charging stops on the way down, I can highly recommend the MFG EV station near Wigan.

It's got a decent number of charging points and they're all 150kW.

After that as you come south it gets a bit more crap, to be honest, with the usual 1 or 2 chargers at various service stations. Our side of the country is not well served for EV charging at the moment from what I've been able to find. I live near Bristol but I head up north a few times a year because my wife's family are in Lancashire and Cumbria - I always use that stop to charge up.
Well I took your advise and visited the services and wow. What a sight the charging stations are. Super fast too, Ford pass suggested it as a stop also so thank you!!

I'm not sure, but I think the pipe might be removed during the roof recall when the headlining is dropped.

When mine came back, I had a airlock on the rear washer that took a while to clear, because it took so long to come through, I feared the same thing as what's happened to you.

Your recall was done a while back, but perhaps they hadn't secured the pipe fully?
