So I had my first service today, Gates Ford in Harlow. They didn't do the 1.7.1 update but what really hacked me off was they didn't wash the car... Even that I could let go but the chap said they don't wash cars due to COVID....COVID!!!!! He said they'd laid a lot of staff off (there were lots of them in this huge dealership mind) and they couldn't wash the cars. I laughed at this, the chap wandered off and when he came back he said it was down for a wash, but they forgot! He shrugged his shoulders but said next time they'll wash it.....there won't be a next time.

It cost £188 (luckily it's a Company car so I didn't have to pay) but I have no idea what you get for that, other than a fancy video of some bloke measuring your tyre depth and brake pads/discs....

All in all, very shoddy customer service (I know I should expect that being Ford) next time I'll give Ford Stevenage a go, saw some good reviews from them.

What a shame, I love the car but I so wish it wasn't a Ford...

Yep, Gates Stevanage were awesome. Updated Sync, Valet job was incredible, looks as goos as it did when I first got it. Also gave me a MachE as a loaner . In Fact , I could have picked the car up on Saturday as the windscreen was replaced on Friday but they wouldn’t have been able to wash it in time so they specifically asked me to come on Monday.

I'd take it as a blessing that they didn't wash the car :) You would take more care than they would have done. Sponge dropped on the floor - "No worries mate. We thought you'd like a nice new matt finish on your car."

Well that's a first checked on our MME First Edition that is currently in for Pano roof, windscreen & software recalls - the app is showing a range of over 300 miles on 96% charge. Currently they've had the car 3 days but since we have a MME AWD EX not too bothered and since it was far from clean when we collected it we've doing a few tip runs.

Charging from a home charger question….

I plug my car in and set it to charge to 80%. My Easee One charger is programmed to start charging at 0030. It charges to 80% and stops as requested. However, I have programmed pre departure climate etc for 0710. But for some reason it doesn’t pre heat now. Anyone have any ideas? TIA

have you set your charger to end time for the charging ... it feels like you have set the window for the EV rate window.

if that window ends when the EV rate window ends then the charger will not pump electrons.

that's my understanding and it's what happens to me too.

i think the correct way is to remove all programming from the charger and set the windows only in the vehicle.

i could be wrong, though!

That sounds very logical. I shall give it a go and report back. Thank you for the advice!

If it’s plugged in it needs to be charging for the preheat to come on

Hi all,

Just wondering if any of you got an update when your MME's were loaded onto a ship, either from the Dealer or Wheresmymme site? I'm fairly confident my March 21 order, which was built on 23rd Dec 21 has been loaded onto a ship as it went Compound in early Feb 22, then Compound out on the 26h Feb, which directly correlated to the Grande Torino leaving Veracruz - it might be a coincidence, but I'm hopeful nonetheless!

Anyway, if you guys can let me know if you're actually told what ship it's on via the WMMME site or the dealer (my dealer said they literally get told when it's in the UK, nothing along the way), i'd really appreciate the heads up.

Alternatively, if anyone knows of a way to get more info, other than what i've been doing, i'd be happy to share my VIN via PM.

The hanging around since build is killing me ?

Thanks!

I've just signed up to Octopus and am using the car settings to handle the timing. I was wondering whether there was a smarter way to combine the car & charger to try and work around Ford's limitations on hourly schedules though?

The window is same as above (1230-0430) so I was thinking something like FordPass charging set from 1200-0500, and then having the Ohme charger set to 1230-0430 and then 0500-1200. That way Ford will handle the actual 7kw charging rate at the cheapest cost, but the charger will be live during the rest of the day for preconditioning, etc. As long as you don't need to precondition the car before 5am it should work right? Though I wonder if Ford will get confused with the 1200 start if the charger isn't 'live'?

Has anyone tried something similar?

I think my 2022 is on the same ship.

My car went compound out at Veracruz on 26/02/22 the same day the Grimaldi lines vessel was in port. Ford have always used that line, so it’s not too much of a stretch to assume that’s the one.

The whereismymme site is awesome, but I don’t think the shipping manifest numbers are being updated. You’ll probably find that it will next update when your car goes compound in at Antwerp and tracking will resume.

In the meantime keep an eye on MarineTraffic.com - the ship has just arrived in NYC, and I think it’s next stop is Antwerp.

Ford have sent a bulletin to dealers for a software patch by end April
This should resolve issues with usb warning and lane assist issues
