Been down to -3 today and no orange snowflake symbol for me. I'm seriously considering whether to have the dealer carry out all remaining updates listed in FDRS even if I have to pay for their time. Shouldn't have to do this though as OTA updates were the promised land. Oh well.
I’m curious about this missing snowflake icon - if you’d like me to do some checks on software versions etc drop me direct message and I’ll see what I can find.

I have just had a thought. If your display is not showing a snow flake, is it by any chance showing a N,S,E or W or something similar. I remember seeing some displays from the US with a compass heading in the space where the snowflake/ambient temperature appears. If this is the case maybe yours is set up differently. I had both in my old Kuga and could turn off the compass display. The handbook says either can be shown but I haven't come across an area in the settings menu where you can manually change it.

On the Mach-E IPC (drivers display) the interchangeable options in the bottom left are for either temperature or compass direction. I haven’t seen one for switching the snowflake into anything else in Forscan but who knows what lurks in there!

I did wonder if it was a missing build configuration as the UK vehicles include a line in the build sheet for “Cold Temp Zones” - but after doing some comparisons it all checks out on his vehicle. I’m looking through module software versions now, so hopefully we’ll get to the bottom of it. I suspect it may just boil down to an mis-programmed IPC module which should be an easy fix for the dealership to sort out.

Good thinking portlandg but the temp shows and the snowflake does not. The only reason I'm concerned is because there appears to be an inconsistency between what mine displays and what yours displays. I wonder if an update hasn't "taken" properly in the past. I know that every APIM update has had to be updated by the dealer so far and not via OTA. Anyway, Tony has kindly volunteered to look at my FDRS record and see if there's any clues. Mine was a 9th June 2021 build so a Job 1.

It's not the end of the world but it's an interesting issue.?

(EDIT) Tony's beaten me to it just as I was writing this message. :)

Hi Jono, is your car a RWD SR by any chance? I don't get the orange snowflake when the temperatures drop either! Its perhaps just how our cars are configured, looking at the OTA wiki there is an update that adds the snowflake.

If you look at his profile he has an AWD ER, so in theory should have everything except the kitchen sink. As it is a later build than mine perhaps it was/is a missing chip issue.

My bad, should have looked at his profile ‍?‍♂.
You are correct though he should have the full package on the IPC.
Mine is an early May 2021 build and I only just started getting OTA updates last week after the dreaded stuck 1.71 update.

The mystery of the missing snowflakes is turning into a head scratcher LOL

Weird you should mention the OTA snowflake addition - I tend to take that Wiki article with a massive pinch of salt as it's based on the US OTA rollout history. Some of the UK feature updates have been very different to the US ones and I think this may be a prime example.

I looked back and found I took the pic below and posted about the snowflake icon on 4th November 2021 when I saw it for the first time. This was in my 2021 Job1 build car which was running Sync version 21139 (UK Power Up 1.6) - so the feature has been knocking around on UK cars for quite some time.

I had always assumed this was a base feature from the very first build so to hear some of you don't have it even now is cooking my brain ?

That was about the same time as I noticed it on my car. First bit of cold weather after we got ours.

If I take out any reference to Bluecruise or PAAK and the F150 this is what I think we should have had by now in the U.K. (ref the Power-Up Version Wiki here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Power-Up_Version_History

It looks like we won't be getting the games and streaming YouTube etc but I'm not bothered about those.

Sorry about any formatting errors :) If anyone disagrees feel free to correct me. I know I haven't had 2.7.3. as no snowflake symbol, information bar or mileage in tenths. (Now done 10,500 miles)

Got to go, my cat wants my computer seat so any errors will have to stand.;)

May I ask if this list of features is specific for the U.K.? I do understand that the folks in the U.S. has a different rollout schedule...

If it helps, very first build RWD ER think it always had it, can’t be sure though.

No I don’t have this on mine either. Mine was built May 25th 2021, SR RWD. You wouldn’t think a warning icon for safety would be an optional extra based on trim. But there again Boeing sold safety features as optional extras so why not Ford.

This list of features is very specifically not UK ? It's based on the US rollout of OTA Software Updates which has had significant differences compared to the UK & EU.

I did start to produce a similar style UK specific list a while back but got distracted with other stuff . Maybe I should have another go at putting it together and shoving it on Wikipedia.

Just to add to snowflakegate here is my IPC from this morning. Definitely no snowflake symbol.

Ford Mustang Mach-E UK Customers 20221209_094828[1]

Update - Booked in to the dealer for a security update, something to do with the alarm can go off when an OTA update is happening therefore the car is blocking OTA software updates. UK RHD vehicles only. This update clears the issue. Snowflake issue will be looked into at the same time. o_O
