Sounds like a great option but not sure it works for me. Just bought our house and at 90% LTV I'm not sure it would work? What do you think?
I’ve no idea tbh... a question for your mortgage lender/bank.

If your bubbles haven't reduced to 4

Your order

In production

On its way

Delivery

Then you haven't confirmed your order.
That's good to know. I should be ok then. Phew

If you're on a high level of borrowing/early mortgage then "additional borrowing" wont be allowed. That's what brought down northern rock.

I'm with tsb and have a 5 year mortgage and just checked, I can apply for "additional borrowing" online to get for example £30k over the next 2 years at a fixed rate at roughly half Ford's rate.

My mortgage is less than half the house value.

I will wait closer to the time when I know the delivery date is clearer. And before then clear down all those balance transfer credit cards I have! To make my outstanding non mortage loans zero to make my credit file look good.

Moneysavingexpert have a free facility to look at your experian credit file.

Lots of credit card debt will affect it.

Am I missing something here? Ford makes the car, why wouldn't they put their logo on it?
Because they are marketing it as a mustang, for the same reason as it isnt on the American version.

Another reason from an American living in the UK. Ford in the US has historically been viewed as a blue collar brand - not a bleeding edge tech company - Mustang is the only thing close to branding that is ‘bleeding edge’ and typically viewed as it’s only premium sub brand. I imagine they knew it had to be branded outside of Ford in order to compete with Tesla Model 3/Y. Only my opinion though.

I'm paying a premium amount circa £50k for a premium brand and quality. If I wanted a Ford label i'd get one of their generic cars like a focus and pay half the price!

Where have you seen it confirmed that the ford oval is not on the US version. It has appeared on many of the US roadshow cars.
Personally I don’t have a problem with it. It has appeared on other Mustangs and the cars are often referred to as a Ford Mustangs.
Ford made the commitment to make it, are seemingly proud of it. Personally I don’t think trying to hide the fact makes it any more or less ‘premium’

I would be very surprised if that logo made it onto production models. They’ve made a big deal about there not being any blue ovals on the car.

Wow you really know your stuff. I am lost at steel rims. So are they tyres that need fitting or something else, this seems like it could be the perfect answer to saving £10,000 and not losing range
It's a bit of a faff but it's a good option I think. You have to pay for the tyres and store them and decide when to swap them over. Of course AWD AND winter tyres would be the best but as you say the price delta is huge. I did think standard range AWD would be an option but the range is slightly light on some journeys I do. Also I want to put as much of my Solar PV surplus in to the car as it's free.

I did wonder if you could add the additional battery as an after market option so you could get the Government Grant and still get the range but I doubt it's as simple and just plugging it in.

It's a lot of faff for one week a year :)

So you take it to a car place each winter to swap over and then swap back in spring? Storage isn't a problem.
