New HV battery junction box required which will resolve both the other faults, this is under warranty.
Dealer has stated the £1k to repair/replace sensors is mainly labour and indicated they will try and reduce this figure as they will be completing warranty work regardless, fingers crossed.
Not worth an insurance claim as the excess is £900

HVJB due end of next week so looks like I’m stuck with the Merc EQA 250+ for a while. The Merc is actually pretty decent, from what I’ve read FWD, 250bhp, 350nm and a big battery 365 miles, certainly feels nippy enough. Nice inside although very dark and lacks the airy feel of the Mach e cabin with the glass roof and the digital displays and dash is very very cluttered compared to the Mach es pretty simple dash display. All in all not a bad motor IMO.

Glad your loan car is more than bearable.

When Stangy went in for body repair, despite telling ‘em I needed a small van to throw my tools in, they gave me a Volvo XC60 - worst car I’ve ever driven?

The most unrefined user unfriendly piece of garbage I’ve ever had to use.

Auto box felt like a transmission from the 1980s, clunky as anything.

And it was brand new with about 500 miles on the clock so there were no excuses.

Often thought about a Volvo EV, not no more!

Hope the HVBJB job is soon done for you.

I emailed Dan Jones (Communications Director at Ford U.K. & Ireland) today asking for an update on Ford’s plans for updating 2021 Mach-Es with BlueCruise. Will let you all know if/when I receive a reply. Have a great weekend.

Well, after chasing Dan Jones on the 11th Feb and receiving a reply back the same day saying he was waiting for some clarification internally and would get back to me ASAP, two weeks later and I have heard nothing. I chased again on 25th Feb, no reply. I also reached out to Ford UK Customer Support on 6th Feb and was told they’d “raised it with the team” and would get back once they had a response. I chased again on the 11th and got the same response and have just chased again today.

So I’m going to call it based on intuition, FORD UK WILL NOT BE UPDATING U.K. 2021/2022 MACH-E VEHICLES WITH BLUECRUISE. @Ford Motor Company I’d be very happy for you dispute my claim here.

I have it, on good authority, BC will be an OTA and will be rolled out to MY21 once testing is completed.

I will certainly not be giving up on this or letting Ford off the hook.

They promised this and it was the fundamental reason I went for the extended range.

Having waited for 2 years I’m losing faith. I don’t understand why Ford UK can’t just formally state, in writing, their intentions. Their reticence to do so is exasperating. I hear that some of you have it on good authority we’ll get it but why can’t we get a formal statement? Who did you manage to talk to? I’ve tried both formal channels, only to be basically ignored. Even my dealer says they have no indication that Ford intends to roll it out to early models.

As our cars are approaching 4 years old perhaps they see it as a small pool of customers as a lot will now be approaching the age of replacing except us that plan to keep going.

I agree but then why not tell us. Like @davkd I bought the Premium Extended Range on the basis that hands free driving would become available. It’s a principle thing now. ?

I wrote to Lisa Brankin and this was taken up by the Exec Office.

They confirmed that I had the hardware fitted and that an OTA would bring BC to my vehicle.

I did ask permission to let everyone know but, it is dependent on whether or not, your vehicle has the hardware fitted.

They have managed my expectations, by telling me that don’t have an actual date yet, but confirmed it will be coming once testing is completed.

It's not the way they work, no one wants to promise anything in case Ford USA bosses find out !

Further to this, I was told that Ford would just turn this on for us, for free when Tesla charge hundreds of pounds for this??‍♂

I was told exactly the same on two separate test drives. Both were facilitated by the dealer but the representatives were from Ford HQ.

They both said ‘BC will be free in the UK as there isn’t the road coverage to charge for it like in the USA’.

Ford now deny this. ?‍♂
