There has been mention on here about some peoples build dates being put back or not being issued when expected. Although the MME is not specifically mentioned it would appear the Ford's new F-150 has been/could be affected by the shortage of microchips that is happening at the moment so this could be one reason. It could also be the reason for the long lead times when ordering. Just hope that those of us whose cars have been built and seem to be stagnating in Mexico aren't affected by this.
The fact that the status is "assembly offline" to me means it's complete and not waiting for any additional parts. It also doesn't make sense how the three cars which are "in transit" on the spreadsheet are all different dates with other cars built in between which are still "in production".

I'm really hoping it's an admin backlog where some cars are logged as gate released and others are not, depending on the technician who moves them off the production line and clicks the right boxes on the computer, but all these built cars are sitting somewhere together and a few days prior to actually getting on the ship (hopefully the Grande Houston) we will see a mass change for our cars to "in transit".

It is interesting though that a lot of the delayed US orders are coming through much faster than the revised estimates they had, while a lot of UK build slots are being pushed back... I'm glad I cancelled the order with the Feb build slot as the tracker still shows that in order processing, while my second order bagged a built car (although we will see when it gets here!)

I am hopeful that the 8th May is a pessimistic estimate and a bunch of these cars will be here in April.

It might be they have a limited amount of car transporters to shift those cars, so priority has been given to US customers while they wait for the ship to come and as a consequence they are shifting builds around. I dunno, the communication from them has been very poor.

I have heard that the factory has started moving cars to Veracruz to wait for the ship so keep an eye on any movement on the tracker. The next ship is still scheduled to arrive on 18th and sail on 19th. Consensus is that shipping to dealer is 8 weeks so any UK cars on this ship should be at your dealer by mid April. Personally, unless they get delayed in Antwerp, I think we might see the first ones being delivered before the end of March. Watch this space.

Fingers crossed for you but have you factored in the fact that the cars will have to self isolate in a hotel for 10 days once they arrive in the UK??

hello, I think I saw in your messages the name of the charterer but I can not find it any more. I'm trying to find the departure dates for France. Thank you
Salut, la compagnie maritime s'appelle Grimaldi et le navire s'appelle Grande Houston. Le navire transportera des voitures pour toute l'Europe, espérons-le.

Hi, the shipping company is called Grimaldi, and the ship is called Grande Houston. The ship will hopefully be bringing cars for all of Europe.

They're clear of the virus. They have been in isolation for 2 months!

Hi Guys,
First post on here on great informative blog! I was able to find my vin from the information given and I can see I got lucky with order placed 7th Jan and my production date was 18th Dec for my Black SR RWD. Dealership been a nightmare as most seem to have experienced until yesterday when they confirmed my vin and ETA date of 15th May. Which is month later than my original date on ordering.
One question ground clearance I have an awkward drive which my current car Merc C Class just clears at 157mm and I am concerned about the specs 147mm clearance for the Mach E. Has anybody seen one in real life or a video measuring the actual front clearance? (I have seen the US YouTube review). If not I may ask one of our US friends to get their tape measure out. Seriously want this car like you all but if I am scraping the front it will be a deal beaker.

Welcome. I only been here a week, but found very informative. Think you been lucky. I ordered 17 Dec RWD but ER. Still waiting for build date. Dealer still thinks it be about March.
I also would like to know regarding clearance. Have to keep convincing the other half it be OK. She never liked the mustang we hired in Florida as it was to low for her. Think mach e will be better. Hoping

Hi @Hotspur28 & @EssexChris - welcome to the forum!

To answer your queries on ground clearance and vehicle height... there's not a massive amount of space between the ground and the car. For an SUV Crossover is is quite low at just 5.7 inches (14.5cm) - so don't be trying to go off-roading :). During normal road driving you wouldn't notice it, but when approaching a sharp incline or an aggressively sized speed hump caution will be needed as the front skirt will have a tendency to dip and scrape.

In regards to vehicle height and getting in and out, because the cabin sits on top of the battery pack the interior is actually at a really nice height. So you don't feel like you're clambering in and out of it looking like a drunk octopus with arms and legs everywhere. It's a very easy in/out experience.

Hope this helps, but doesn't ultimately put you off. If you watch some of the YouTube reviews you will see the ground clearance for yourself, and you can gauge it from there.

I'll try and find some examples, and I'll post them here for you.
Thanks for this. I have seen videos on YouTube etc it's the actual front skirt clearance that's important for my drive. I think for me I need the front skirt clearance measured and with no cars in the UK yet that I know of I may try and ask on the US forum to see if they will get their tape measure out for me. It would also be useful for the width with mirrors as well. I have seen estimates of 83“ but not one actually physically measured. If I cannot get it on my drive for security and charging I will have to cancel but I definitely do not want to do that but its a big risk and I would like to keep myself intact if it turns up and the Mrs sees it does not fit ?

By all means do see if you can get any US members to validate the dimensions - but be aware their cars are slightly different to ours as the suspension has been tuned differently for US and European cars.

I got my tape measure out when I saw the car in Feb 2020 to answer a gazillion questions I had from forum members, and I cross checked the Ford spec sheet which I've popped below...
