But no place to go. :( F covid!
I literally take my mustang for drives with no where to go.
I like driving some canyons, country roads etc. I’ll be gone for hours. This has been a huge Covid outlet for me. Too bad my engine rebuild too up the majority of the summer so I missed out on some good cruising. Now that it’s winter, I still drive her, I just wait till all the snow has melted and the roads are dry.

I don't think the shipping delay is a confirmed fact. But my feeling is Ford is working hard to get them out. If not, they would have announced a delay as they did with Bronco.

Also, they didn't stop production, and they are filling up the parking lot. Whatever reason is causing the delay, I feel bad for the responsible group. They must be feeling a lot of pressure from the top.
Mr. Palmer, is that YOU!

I think it's pretty much confirmed, or demo units were expected to be at dealers by now. Could debate if it's only a shipping issue at this point (I think it was confirmed by insider) or something else is keeping them from being shipped, but no matter how you look at it, there is clearly a shipping delay even if it isn't shipping's fault...

Is picking these vehicles up at the plant within the realm of reality would it be a road trip of a lifetime or one way suicide mission?
Yes, the plant has all the personnel and paperwork for selling the car directly to you instead of the dealer, despite their contractual obligations. No need to call ahead, just head down to the plant now. When you get there, make sure you tell them you're an american and that they should speak english.

Is the shipping delay keeping production levels down, or is production ramping up at all?
Last I heard the only production delays were issues with parts suppliers.

I'm not sure about these "shipping logistics" issues, but if it's any consolation or provides any perspective, there are plenty of trucks moving shipments out of Portage, MI.

Of course they are different types of transport, but it is amazing to see the scale at which these things can ramp up.

For a non-sarcastic answer, someone mapped it out and there aren't enough electric car chargers for you to even make it out of Mexico so even if they somehow allowed this (which they don't) you would never be able to make it home. Add in the dangers of the drive and all the dealerships contracts and stuff it just won't be possible

True, but prob cheap enough to hire a single flat bed truck to haul it to the border. (If there is a will, there is a way)

There is no logic to keeping the cars in Mexico because there is no desire to keep them there. Ford is developing a plan to get them out of Mexico ASAP. The problem is getting them out of Mexico. All of our vehicles that have Monroney stickers already have a destination ramp. Getting 4,000 cars from a point in Mexico to a bunch of ramps across the US is a feat of logistics and Ford is working hard on it now.

As long as they are in Mexico they are still making sure everything is fine and they will be fine in shipping.

Be patient, hopefully everything will be a go by the end of the week.
Everyone keeps telling us to "be patient", and I think for the most part we're doing the best we can. However, there is such a thing of patience wearing thin. Ford isn't helping matters by not sharing information publicly. While we appreciate the information from the insiders here, it doesn't replace official updates. In the end though, there's nothing we can do about it. Ford knows we're gonna buy these cars anyway. We've been waiting over a year, what's another month or so?

Hi fellow and future inhabitants of the Mach-E delivery waiting room,

After reading through this thread, I've seen A LOT of speculation. Is this possible...? They've already begun shipping the cars but haven't yet updated the information that is public???‍♂ It might be wishful thinking, but my dealer (who specializes in ordering vehicles at Ford) has run into a bunch of things during this process that he's not experienced before.

Premium MME, SR, RWD. Production/Finished date 12.5.

I guess 'anything is possible', but I suspect if shipping has occurred, we would have heard about it by now.
