Thank you. This is a great progress update.

To you, @hybrid2bev or any other in the know members, has anyone figured out what "SPECIAL ORDER" in the window sticker mean? I just noticed it on mine and my production date also says 12/16/20. My build week was 12/5/20 (originally 12/7/20).
No idea. If I have to guess it’s because all customer Mach-Es are built to order.

I'm just trying to understand the logic of keeping 4000 vehicles in Mexico as opposed to say, moving 2500 of these into secure parking in the Central US. The biggest bottleneck/logistics cost is getting them out of Mexico. The quality gating mechanism can be performed in the US.

Now if the initial 4000-5000 batch was entirely allocated to the Southwest/West Coast, I could see why moving them all at once would make sense.

But we know based on FE self reported orders on this forum/published ETAs that the orders are promising delivery all over the US, so the initial batch can't be soaked up entirely by the sun belt.

What am I missing here?
I'll throw one out: you struggle to even move people between states without a 14 day quarantine. The assembly plant is the closest you can come to a controlled, COVID-safe environment.

Thanks again for linking this. Does anyone know where on the sticker you can see the production date? At the end of the "SPECIAL ORDER" box I am seeing "11 19 20", wondering if that might be it.

If so, my MME was built early and I am glad I did not know it was built because I would have been going crazy waiting for shipments to start.

To see the status, copy your vin to the clipboard and click the "tracking" tab at the top of the forum page between "what's new" and "showcase". Paste the vin and then look at the "status" as well as "build" date result fields
