I'm just trying to understand the logic of keeping 4000 vehicles in Mexico as opposed to say, moving 2500 of these into secure parking in the Central US. The biggest bottleneck/logistics cost is getting them out of Mexico. The quality gating mechanism can be performed in the US.

Now if the initial 4000-5000 batch was entirely allocated to the Southwest/West Coast, I could see why moving them all at once would make sense.

But we know based on FE self reported orders on this forum/published ETAs that the orders are promising delivery all over the US, so the initial batch can't be soaked up entirely by the sun belt.

What am I missing here?
There is no logic to keeping the cars in Mexico because there is no desire to keep them there. Ford is developing a plan to get them out of Mexico ASAP. The problem is getting them out of Mexico. All of our vehicles that have Monroney stickers already have a destination ramp. Getting 4,000 cars from a point in Mexico to a bunch of ramps across the US is a feat of logistics and Ford is working hard on it now.

As long as they are in Mexico they are still making sure everything is fine and they will be fine in shipping.

Be patient, hopefully everything will be a go by the end of the week.

Is the shipping delay keeping production levels down, or is production ramping up at all?

I’m having a hard time remembering or finding....if we have been told a “Scheduled to Date” by our dealer, does that mean it starts the line or rolls off the line on the date? My Week of Build is 12/20 and my scheduled to date is 12/22
My scheduled to build date was 12-11, but it now has a "Produced" date of 12-17 (I'm assuming it was actually built 12-16 and the status just updated overnight so now it reads as 12-17).

I think your 'scheduled to date' is when it was supposed to be built (done), but it seems they are running behind schedule. If your date is 12-22 I'd guess your actual production "produced" date will be around 12-28 (maybe a bit later due to Christmas so maybe 12-29?)

Is it because its a RT1?
Yeah its a RT1 and my sticker was "printed" prior to the EPA certification. I'm hoping they "reprint" it soon ;)

For some perspective... (I received this via email just now.)

this is what UPS has been saying since March - basically "yeah, that delivery date you paid for? about that"

honestly I've been amazed at how much has in fact been flowing well. only one really big problem so far was about four months ago where some medication sat... somewhere for like a week. nobody could tell me at the time nor after what exactly happened with it.

Is picking these vehicles up at the plant within the realm of reality would it be a road trip of a lifetime or one way suicide mission?
