...people are hoping Carvana would go out of business, but I hope not, they will shake the whole automotive industry, they are the ones keeping the market afloat at auctions and people are selling to them.
Doesn't exactly sound like Carvana has a recipe for success there...

Meanwhile, CVNA stock is up 82% since last week's close.

1 Year ago the stock was $175 and today it’s $8 a few weeks ago it was $3

Bankruptcy this year for sure. All the other dealers with the same model are headed In the same direction. Carmax is just not paying the high prices anymore so they can stay in business.

Sold my Volt to them when I bought the MME.
They made me an offer I could not refuse.
They paid me way too much.
Took the money and ran.

Maybe so but for now they are throwing some major money into Jimmie Johnson part time return to Nascar.

Carvana had been banned from selling cars in Illinois and now Michigan given they are taking forever to provide titles to their customers. They can still buy cars, but not sell them. Not a great recipe for success.

If we look at their sell prices, they are on par with the local used car market.
They are not selling for more, they are just buying little more than the local market. They may make less profit but given their volume selling, I think they will survive.

Their model is buying and selling, you can not remove any one thing and survive.
Finally, with the sort resources they have they might already predicted next few years.
Just my thought

By the way, Vroom thinks my 6-month old 2022 premium ER AWD with 3,000 miles is worth $39k.

I’m not underwater, but even if I was, I wouldn’t care. Fulfilling my contract, keeping the car, not buying another until/if the Aptera 600 mile per charge comes to reality.

Tesla just cut prices across the board. MY that used to be $67k is now < $55k (and you can take the tax credit if you qualify pushing it to ~$47k for LR AWD). Used Tesla's are now going for more than in-stock new.

Your move Ford I guess now.
