The only thing missing in Fordspeak is the dreaded "soon". This is clearly a safety issue. Consider that, but since this is going to affect thousands of cars, perhaps Ford or a customer should let the Feds know about this.
Agreed. Hope they start to take care of it soon.

I've also had that error once since completing the recall. Haven't seen it since, but definitely alarming that it could re-trigger..

When 1-pedal fails with my car it's always when going under 30mph and there is a warning and audio on the center screen that alerts you that it is off.
The next time the car is started 1-pedal comes back on.
Does it happen to you often?
I have had it rarely happen (this morning, actually), maybe 3 times in the 9 months I have owned my 2023 CR1 (so no correlation to HVBJB recall). It doesn't freak me out at all, but the bZ4X often intentionally (by design!) shut off the 1PD-like function it had, whenever it couldn't shove more power in the battery due to temperature or SoC. So I guess I always have a lower threshold to actually use my brake pedal. It was more startling when it happened on my husband's Volvo C40, because it has stronger regen than Engaged on my car. I also probably tend to leave a lot more room in front of me while driving, because I really don't want to accidentally smash its nose into another car in a sudden braking situation. Switching to 2PD makes sense if it's feels more abrupt and dangerous when 1PD cuts out, though.

As it's been communicated to me, they don't even have a part that fixes the issue.
Oddly they do and it's already installed next to the other pedal.

I know it's an utter pain in the ass to use it once you're used to 1pd but if it's possibly going to put you in danger it might well be worth going back to the archaic way nearly all other cars are driven.
I'm also wondering if this is regional. It appears those that have had this happen are in northern areas which leads me to wonder if it's temperature related or hindered anyway. Like regen sees the battery too cold and just calls it quits as it's go no where to put the generated power.

Yeah it's a tough one. I don't find 1 pedal to be strong enough that I could imagine it putting me at risk if it didn't work, I am usually several car lengths away before I let it do full regen, or if I have a lot of time (coming up to a red light) I don't fully let off the accel to modulate the 1 pedal and coast down slowly. In either scenario if 1 pedal just didn't work, I have so much buffer to change to the brake that it would just be an annoyance, not even in the realm of dangerous.

My F-150 has an annoying issue with auto hold where it sometimes... doesn't. The light comes on and the truck holds initially, but it kind of does this "bump" where it moves forward slightly at short intervals, like the auto hold is only barely holding and for a moment it lets go then holds again.

I found others that had this issue and it sounds like there may be weak pressure in some portion of the transmission that manages the auto hold (I always thought auto hold was your brakes but sounds like it may not be, I haven't looked into it further though).

In any case, the first time it happened I was unnerved because I think it was a drive thru line and we were closer than I would be at a traffic light or something like that, and my foot wasn't on the brake and ready to go.

But as with all driver assistance features, auto hold or adaptive cruise or even 1 pedal, you as the driver need to always be ready to take over, and you should be leaving room for if that system acts in a way it shouldn't. Easier said than done in all cases, but it's a good lesson for all of us as we rely more and more on these systems. All that said, Ford should find out what the cause is and soon, I just don't know how this falls into the realm of being overly dangerous with how long the travel distance is to come to a stop even with full regen.

I the HVJB recall last week and just got a one-pedal error warning this morning. I will re-engage later. I hope this is a constant problem. Finger crossed.

Use four brake pedal problem solved.
In fairness I would not have bought a Mach-E if it didnt have OPD, I would not buy an EV without it. Losing my kick to open trunk cause it randomly opens on its own, no big deal, but OPD, big deal.

Report to NHTSA to force a solution.

Wow, after reading the original post; I thought, ok, what ever, random error.

But for 4 different people to chime in on a 3 page forum post with the same issue. That's a pretty high percentage. I Love OPD, so maybe I put off the recall until ford figures out the software patch for this issue. Never had the HJVB fail in almost 3 years of ownership.....but I do drive her a little like the "trailer queen" that she is.

Only time I have had this was when I was at 100% SOC. It surprised me a bit, but now I know so I stop with a little more distance. I could see where this would be a concern if it happened at random, I would turn it off or add distance until this was addressed. I am in no hurry to get my HVJB replaced, I think I will wait until this is resolved first.
