I’m a new leasee of a 2024 Mach e and also my first EV. I’m curious what the necessary/required maintenance is for EVs &/or specifically the Mach e just so I’m not conned by my dealer into spending on unnecessary maintenance.

Thank you.

The owners manual is an option in the center screen. 10,000 mile service intervals of tire rotations and coolant level checks. That's about it IIRC... You can download a PDF of the manual which is a little easier to navigate.

Brake pad wear and brake fluid changes are about the only other things to keep an eye on maintenance wise that I can think of.

Thank you for this. I’ll take a look there.

Check your ford Pass app under the service tab.

Correct advice is always exactly what the Manufacturer recommends, no less, ignore the mis-advice, hot air, the puff, stuff & nonsense around these forms that it’s “only” a cabin filter change or a tyre rotate you can do yourself.

Our 22 with 36K miles has been in service for a failed front drive unit and Ford replaced the HVJB at same time. 3 tire rotations and replaced faulty TPMS in 2 tires. 3 cabin filters and 1 gallon of washer fluid are all the maintenance items I’ve done myself. Dealer just did a full checkup before we ticked over 36K. All checkup periods done during while in for other service so I’ve got less than $50 for just under three years of ownership for maintenance.

Thank you.
- Annual visual inspections….
- 12V battery at 30-36 months (my personal advice)
- brake fluid flush around 36k
- If you religiously use regen braking, brake pads and rotors might not need replacing until 100k+
- coolant (for HVB) change around 100k.
- tire replacement….depends on driving style.

In short, EVs require nowhere need the maintenance of ICE cars which, in addition to fuel savings and incredible performance, are major reasons why ICE cars are doomed.

for 24 model year they changed service intervals which called for brake fluid replacement every three years, and transmission fluid etc. Now all the services have been changed over to "inspection" so only the tire rotation at 10k is part of the service.

Mainte schedule starts page 424 in 2024 manual.

Wonder if the UK/EU versions also recommend tyre rotations? My understanding is that is an American obsession of ours.

Many of us previous ICE users went several years with nothing but oil changes. Here's hoping my MME does as well.
