The negativity on this site has been bugging me for a while. Having issues with and looking for help solving those issues with a vehicle is totally understandable and fine with me; I just feel there's been a lot of extra-negative and somewhat nasty posting lately.
In an effort to lighten up the conversation, I'm asking the question in the subject of this post: What do you love about your Mustang?

Here are a few of the many things I love about my Mustang, in order of them occurring to me while I'm writing this:

  • The styling;
  • The color! I love the Grabber Blue;
  • The comfortable ride -- I don't buy luxury vehicles, so this is the most comfortable ride I've ever owned;
  • The range (320 to 350-ish miles 100% to 0% in my CR-1);
  • The ease of driving--I have far less exhaustion on long road trips than any other vehicle I've owned;
  • The acceleration;
  • The ability to add fuel to the vehicle while I'm at work and it's just sitting there;
  • The bump of 10-20% in charge overnight while sleeping;
  • The long, long, long time between visits to the gas station (less than one visit per month with my Tacoma);
  • On long road trips, I find myself not only stressing less, but I also stopping and walking around a lot more, which helps me feel physically better;
  • The cool factor;
  • The conversations we have with all kinds of new people;
  • The fun factor;
  • The data nerd in me loves the opportunity to do so much data collection--yes, yes, I could do the same with my Tacoma, but it's not the same;
  • The lower total cost of ownership I'm seeing with this vs a similar-capability ICE;

If you feel the urge to crap all over this thread, please just don't. There's plenty of space to post in the hate thread instead. I can't stop you from posting here, obviously, but we'll all judge you and your negativity if you post your hate here.
Pretty much all of the above.

I've come thru a 1966 Mercury Comet (just don't ask, ok? haha), a 1974 Ford pickup, a 1990 BMW 318i (put 199,700+ miles on that thing before it blew), three generations of Prii, a Ford Fusion Energi and now the Mach E. Plus, multiple assorted motorcycles including a Ural w/sidecar.

My AWD Mach E Premium with the Comfort Package and the Tech Package is the most long-trip comfortable, and among the two sportiest, of all the cars listed above. Additionally, it'll match all my Priuses for "packability" while beating them on everything else. That's why I've had it just one week over 10 months today and I am at 29,950 miles on the odometer, and my back and my wallet aren't out of shape about it.

...did I mention how much gas I've bought this year?

Good thread here. Good on the OP for starting it.

The first car that was mine was a 1968 Mercury Cougar RX-7 with with a blown transmission...

Do you have pics of the Ural?!

We loved our Prii and I fully agree, the space in the Mustang is only beat by the Siennas we had.

And nothing we've had beats the fun and drivability of the Mustang. Other than my bikes, but I don't ride in the snow...

The best thing is the electric drive train... there is no going back

looks good, and drives well
  1. Absolutely at the top of the list of things I love about this car is the drivetrain. It "just goes" when you put your foot down; there's no "preparing to go" like in an ICE.
  2. It is indeed a great car for driving distances on boring highways - handsfree blue cruise is a godsend, especially when I'm tired or not feeling well. I drove it back from new york with covid, and I'm not sure I could have made that drive all by myself
  3. On fun curvy roads it is a blast to drive (no BCHF there): it holds better than my prior pony cars and acceleration out of a curve is smooth as silk
  4. Despite the occasional bounciness, it's still a comfortable car to ride in over long distances
  5. Never having to go to a gas station is nice, but the better thing is refueling with my solar panels - my solar payments are half what my old PSE&G bills were AND I don't pay anything for gas. It will only get better once the panels are paid off.
  6. The rapid red color with tinted clearcoat is still striking every time I see it
  7. I didn't like it at first, but after getting used to OPD I really like it now - using the brakes in my wife's PHEV feels so archaic
There is definitely no going back to an ICE

*** EDIT ***
I forgot one: the size of the trunk. I used to use my '87 mustang hatchback to haul lumber, mulch, etc - and the same goes for my Mach-E. I actually drove a medium sized fridge home from our shore property a couple of months ago.

Great thread.
  • Both fun and practical - I have called it the mullet of cars (business in front of the neighbors, party on the back roads)
  • The EV experience all-around - coming out every morning, no worries about needing to stop for gas, and no oil changes (I expect to save 3 years of stress related aging due to no stripped out drain bolts when my wife goes to cheap places)
  • Unique style, not just another crossover
  • The salt from the No True Mustang crowd
  • Remote start is part of the package (not an extra subscription)
  • Gets OTA updates (Go ask the ID.4 owners how that's going)
  • The massive frunk, it's just so frunky
  • Solid range
  • Meeting folks at the DCFC - really is a more positive experience that the gas station
  • The quiet

The Mustang is a great roadtrip vehicle for a pair of empty nesters! I also hear some people have had success with the Mustang as a road trip vehicle with kids in diapers.
Not much road tripping for us, but MME is great taxiing inlaws around, so we're doing diapers AND dentures. Was ferrying my wife's dad home from his clinic a few days back. He was spouting off about a GTO he had about a hundred years ago. Bragged how you had to hang on to the dash when he was driving. Mustang got nothing on the GTO, he told me. Especially a wimpy electric Mustang.

Clinic had a big empty area in parking lot, nice clean pavement. Was raining. I Flipped traction control off, pulled a couple figure eights. Had to smell that diaper all the way home. But no more talk about "the good old days". No more EV insults. And I slept well that night. On the couch...

These are two of my "added bonus" faves.

In no particular order:
  • She's sexy as hell - I smile absolutely every time I see it
  • Torque - immediately
  • Leaving everyone behind at the lights, except that one time a Model Y had the same idea I did - which was a blast because we each blitzed the poor ICE in the middle lane :)
  • The massive centre display
  • The amount of money I save on gas
  • Decent sound system
  • It's a blast to drive
  • How quickly it warms up in the winter
  • Blue Cruise it pretty fun, even though I keep one hand loose on the wheel almost always
  • The first car my daughter ever drove was an EV - that's pretty cool
  • Running into people at work or client sites who get super interested if they find out I own one. Had a guy on a conference call talk about his old '66 Camaro SS, then a Mustang he had, and finally said "but what I really want is that new electric Mustang!"
  • OTA updates
  • The aluminum front end
  • The Brembo brakes! Stops on a dime when it needs to
  • It's fun to wash by hand
  • The Pony puddle lights

Guys, I simply love driving this car. I could list a bunch of stuff, like the puddle lights or how the GTPE wheels are maybe the first I didn't instantly replace with custom. But I get up in the morning excited to drive. Praying a WRX lines up next to me at the stop light. (EVERY WRX wants to race, EVERY time. And most Z cars. Am I right?? )

Oh yea, a couple weeks ago an STi pulled up and revved. Was funny that he got caught in between revving it when the light changed. I was on the other side of the intersection and his turbo was still spooling up.

I love that my 2yo girl says "weeeeee" from her rear facing seat when I give it the beans. She couldn't fit in a V8 'stang either.

This car is fantastic. I've had minor irritation with the slow software, but everything OP listed makes it well worth it to me!

Another thing... I know it's not unique to the Mustang, but it's on mine, so it adds to my enjoyment: This evening I came out of the gym into the icy, snowing cold, the Mustang welcomed me with its puddle pony. As I opened the door, the warm cabin welcomed me to sit down onto toasty seat that soothed my already stiffening muscles from my workout.

Same. Way back when I put my deposit down I thought it would be kind of fun to be an early adopter. Would have never guessed that I would end up with no plans of buying another ICE.
We're hoping to hold off until there's an electric Tacoma, Ranger, or other mid-sized pickup with a decent but not too high towing capacity and a 200-300 mile range while towing.

I echo what others have said, and I'll just add that driving past these never gets old!
