Saw these two Ford cars decked out with LiDAR sensors on I-94 near Dearborn. The can on top was spinning very quickly. Ford closed down ARGO AI already.

BC mapping? Level 3 ADAS work?

Yeah, I think Ford was going to keep the vehicles for in-house Level 3 development.

BlueCruise mapping is done by HERE, not Ford.

They're collecting high fidelity data for something. The vehicle is probably fitted with BC's 5 radars and they're going to use it for training / calibration. There's numerous use-cases for the data they're collecting.
