Wowza!

I need to report I just saved $388 or wherever that is in Great British Pounds because I didn’t succumb to the paranoiacs’ noise about replacing a 12V battery which doesn’t need replacing 😂😂😂

I witnessed the battery tested weak, I paid to have it replaced, what is so funny about that?

Yeah, so your justification is a wise one and I’d do same if my 12VB failed or became weak.

The whole point which I find funny is that if I was one of the paranoiacs and replaced the battery at 3 years, unnecessarily, I’d be well on my way to a second unnecessary battery replacement period for the same non reason costing/wasting $776 or the GBP equivalent 🤷🏼‍♂️

That’s 20years’ worth of brake fluid changes here!

I still have the original 12v in my 2022 MME I got in March of 2022, so coming up on 4 years old.

I did recently proactively replace the 12v in my 2020 Chevy Bolt that I got in January of 2020, so 6+ years old. I still had the Chevy points I was given at purchase and was able to use those so my total cash cost was $86. I used a voltmeter to test the battery once out of the car and got 12.85v. That seems like a healthy voltage but I don't know how to measure capacity.

I figure I will swap the MME battery when it hits 6 years as well.

I picked up one of these https://a.co/d/0cFv95Yi for about $25, it'll test and show CCA, SOH, SOC.

I thought my May of 21 battery finaly gave up the other day when the car wouldn't ready up and I got the warining light parade, it aslo tested...meh...so I decided to replace it even though I knew it wasn't going to fix anyhthing. Long story short the car is now sitting at the dealer with a contactor stuck open code. I miss my old battery...and my $170.

spend more to test the battery than to simply replace it? No, I don't think so..
You don’t have to buy one 🙄

I don’t buy a CT scanner for a medical appointment🙄🙄

I also still have my original 12V battery (vehicle placed in service July 2021) and 60K miles on my MME Premium (AWD ER). I was just at the dealership and had them check my 12V battery status and I am still at 76%. I will continue keeping an eye on it, but so far, so good.
