Why can't you wait for a special order Mach E?

need a car in July. My RT1 December order still not scheduled, but can go down to dealer and get a 21 Gtpe for msrp. Thinking about buying it and then trading it in when my original order gets in.

If you buy the GTPE, I’ll be shocked if you get rid of it and go with the RT1.

May be hard to give up the mag ride and extra power. But if you do, you would be the first here to go backwards on that deal! (Quite a few went from another Mach E to the GTPE).

There is multiple reasons i haven’t pulled trigger

Phil and I ordered our R-1s at almost the same time. Phil mine's not scheduled yet either.

So my reason is maybe somewhat unique. I had a perfectly serviceable 2014 Mustang coupe, barely broken in with only 1/4 million miles on the clock give or take, hit a deer on the way to work and put the insurance check away toward a new Mach-E.

Meanwhile, my mom (who turned 96 this year), when the lease was up on her Lincoln, went ahead and bought the car reasoning "it's only a matter of time before somebody in the family needs to borrow a car." She's still sharp as a tack, handles her own finances and affairs, walks around the block with her 4 wheeled walker every day with supervision when weather allows. I want to be just like her when I grow up!

But I'd also like to return her car to her sooner than later. Kinda sucks to feel like the family ne're-do-well.

By the time I was talked into a GT-PE, I was afraid the tax break would run out. So I put in the leg work to find one.

OK, I'll be the opposing voice. I walked into the dealer, test drove and bought it. It was an amazing experience in the MME for me.....acceleration in a car I've never felt, took turns like a champ, it just felt so right.

I saw my father-in-law die way to early in life and not experience the things he was waiting for.. If they have what you want, then get it and enjoy life.

I don't want to miss out on the federal tax credit. At 50k this car is a decent value, but at 42,500, this car is a good value.

Make decisions based on today, not in the future. Chances that your 9 old old car will develop issues are slim to none. It's ok to say you just wanted something new asap. Interest rates, seriously.

If you ask a question and want real answers you don’t have to be an a** when someone gives an answer. I realize your reality is all that matters to you and you obviously don’t see that someone else‘s reality could be different. This is the first new car I’ve ever bought. It’s also double the cost of ALL my previous cars combined. I was excited and still am. I waited 4 months without a production date before I bought one off a lot so your assumption of ASAP is a little off.

My 9 year old car with close to 120k miles may not develop major issues in the next 4-12 months, but I would need 2-3 oil changes, spark plugs, brake fluid, engine coolant, fuel filter and engine air filter. But you obviously know way more about MY life and car than I do.

If interest rates go up 1% in the next 6-9 months it’s the same amount per month as the ADM. I’m sure you’re paying cash because your comment about interest rates just drips with a smugness that shows you have no concept that others may not be in the same financial situation as you. F you dude.

I have the jones to build an engine, but I need to wait until I have funds to do so. Unfortunately, the first few months of this year left me in a hole and without a dog. Engine needs to wait. Gotta get on a waiting list for a dog after I research breeders. ?
