Your interstates must be better than mine.
I think that’s the beauty of it never going below freezing in Florida. Good roads.

Too bad the drivers here suck. But that seems the case everywhere.

You should visit New England! :)
Live in Mass for 10 years. Lived in Michigan longer. Michigan has worse roads that anywhere in New England.

Yep. And making roads a priority in the state budget. We drive to Las Vegas frequently, and spend a lot of time on (mostly) CO and UT interstates. UT does a great job maintaining theirs with basically the same weather as CO, while CO's roads suck. They spend most of it on other things instead.

Doesn't take long to notice the difference either. When rolling across the border on I-70, it's immediate. Goes from smooth to bumpy right as you cross the line.

Yikes! I've dented more than a few rims and broken a motor mount on my Infiniti on the roads in SE Mass and the Providence area in the past 10 years. And that's with 45 and 55 series tires.

Our 2018 Fusion Energi needed $1,800 of suspension work for "collision with road" from over time damage. Covered by insurance, less deductible.

And it had a rear blowout on a pothole doing 70mph. Destroyed tire and rim. Made an insurance claim after state agreed to pay deductible.

My answer is “it depends.”

What exactly do you give up if you don’t renew? Is it only the hands Free and will the regular lane keep system still work?
It should only be the hands free. If Ford tries to disable the standard ACC/LC functionality which they sold to us, they would have a lawsuit on their hands. "Bluecruise" (before Ford confusingly rebranded it to replace "Co-Pilot 360") was only meant to the hands-free capability.

Also it’ll depend on how much better it gets over the next couple years.

More roads it works on? Less lane hunting? Lane change? Less times it makes you take over?

It could be significantly better with some software updates in a couple years.
It could be improved, but do you really think it will? After nearly a year and a half of ownership and watching Ford repeatedly bungle software updates and enhancements, I would lean heavily toward "not gonna happen."

BlueCruise handsfree driving is what you paid $600 for (if you paid for it). Intelligent Cruise with Stop and Go has no subscription and isn't new.

Probably 1/2 the comments about BlueCruise made in these threads have nothing to do with BlueCruise.
The confusion is that Ford appears to have recently rebranded its entire Co-Pilot360 suite as BlueCruise.

I’ve never seen a rut or pothole on a Bluecruise street. Only interstate highways around here.
Tell me you're not from Michigan without telling me you're not from Michigan.

It would depend on the cost (obviously). If it were $600/year, that would be a little steep.

I'm not opposed to the concept, though, since it takes ongoing effort to maintain the mapping hands-free requires.

I've been pretty shocked at how many people aren't that excited about it. For me, it's been a game-changer, and a feature I would basically require on any new vehicle I purchase.

I find hands-free mode works best in the situations where normal driving sucks most: stop-and-go traffic and long, straight highways.

If the road is nice and curvy, I'm taking all the assistance off and enjoying the drive.

If I'm driving in a straight line for 3 hours, or making the same highway commute I make 10 times a week, or stuck in a traffic jam, it's really nice to feel like you're being chauffeured around.

Definitely would be worth $20/month for me.

I want to drive the car. I do not want it to drive me. If I need a nap, a phone call, or video I choose the couch, not the car. It's not about how good the automation is. I want to interact with the world in my way, on my terms. I do not want a machine to do that for me.
Slowmotion, I could not have said it better. I've had cruise control on almost every vehicle I have owned and have never used it. I'm sure it's great for those long drives many people do and I'm sure BlueCruise works great for many also but like cruise control, I never plan to use it. I enjoy driving way too much to have my vehicle do it for me.

So my answer is no, I will not pay for it.

Answer: absolutely! I'm just over 2 months with my MME. This sets a new bar for automated driving, IMO.

I find BlueCruise particularly good in rush hour traffic on freeways. It reduces my overall commute stress significantly. I kick up the following distance to 3 and just let it drive. That gives plenty of room for people to merge in front of me smoothly. And I was completely surprised and happy to find out that it auto-resumes after coming to a complete stop in traffic. In case that isn't clear, the car will come to a complete stop due to traffic in front stopping, then when traffic ahead starts to move again, the car will automatically start moving again without any driver input!

I was expecting it to only be a huge benefit for long trips, but so far I've only taken one long trip and zero of the roads were enabled for BlueCruise. I hope to see how it does on a long trip soon. But the fact that it turns out to be very nice for rush hour traffic was a complete surprise and worth the cost.

It depends on the cost. BC is cool, but I can easily do without it. If the cost is like $60/year ($5/month), then yeah, I'll keep it. If it's more than that, then no.

Aww, you never use cruise control?

Hopefully you stay in the right lane on the highway!

Super frustrating when someone parks in the left lane with no cruise control and keeps speeding up and slowing down for no reason.

CC isn’t just a convenience, it helps with safety, efficiency, and helps reduce traffic.

IMHO:
No. I won’t pay for it. The only difference between blue cruise and the adaptive cruise with lane centering is whether I have to be touching the steering wheel. And what else am I supposed to do with my hands while not touching the steering wheel? May as well rest one on the wheel.
If BlueCruise changed lanes for me… I might consider it.
