Fortunately, the dealer I work for now is legit and would never do anything like that. However, being 15 years in the business, I know there are plenty of dealers out there that would. Especially at the end of the month. If they are one CPO car sale away from hitting a metric provided by Ford to hit a volume bonus, they will take the risk.It did sound like the car was scheduled in for this week. Still, thinking that they'll just get the customer to sign a waiver...that's between the dealership and the customer...not between that dealer and the federal government....pretty risky behavior for what amounts to 25 minutes of programming time.
