Lmfao how the hell you get 238 miles on your bolt. I live in NJ and I have a 2018 Chevrolet Bolt Premier and in the winter I get at most 150 miles at 100% battery.
Part of it must be conditioning in winter, along with garage storage. Summer/spring/fall, 270 miles+, not sure but it is. I usually keep it fully charged (now at 90%, temporarily). Also, Colorado is a drier climate and the winters are not so severe (single digit and below are rare, 20 degrees are more the normal in winter for lows, 30-50 degrees for highs) and a good deal of passive solar daytime (310+ days of sunshine/year). No long trips, just local everyday driving.

A unheated garage may be no better than outside in the sun. That was one question I had and I put it to my dealer. If it is plugged in it will maintain itself or just freeze up? If it sits for days plugged in in the cold should we set it up on a schedule? What is recommended. It appears the Bolt take care of preserving the batteries if let sitting in the cold as long as it is plugged in? Ford not mentioning it in the manual makes me think it will be the same? I know I bring all my power batteries in the house for the winter but my wife says the MME is not getting under the blanket's with us :( asked not happening.
Passive solar use is always a good deal. If it is there, definitely take advantage.

Most of your posts are like this. Why are you so negative? What is your reason for participating in this community?

It sure seems like it's only you.

Enjoy it.

I actually haven’t decided on the MY or Mach-E yet. Still undecided. I actually drove almost an hour to check out the Mach-E and actually was one of the first few people to post a bunch of videos and pictures on this forum. Theres tons of stuff I like about the Mach-E vs the Model Y but the decision for me will come down to range. Which car I can go the farthest. I will say to be honest the third row option in the Model Y is swaying me to it although I only have 1 child at the moment but will be having another probably in a year I want to prepare for it and I feel I might need the third row.

I have never seen anything close to as low as 150 mi., 90% or 100%.
I would surmise that something is awry at your end.

Then you drive badly. My 2017 Bolt actually drives over 225 miles consistently when the temp is in the 25--40 F range. I believe these numbers because I have driven them for four years. You are free to believe your own numbers.

There's a guy in metro Detroit who has a blue Mazda Miata convertible...he drives with the top down through the winter. I've spotted him on the highway a couple of times in January driving (top down) at 75 mph, with temps below 20 degrees F. I know I have a picture somewhere...I'll post if I can find it.
He is probably into leather whips and shackles, too.

Currently its 23 degrees F here in NJ where I’m at. I do drive fast so I am usually driving at 70mph and up. I drive mostly highway. I do not have a garage, my car is outside in the driveway. I do precondition the car before heading out.

I mean I drive fast, I use the car like I did my ICE cars before. I use the heat, and seat heaters, etc.

No problem driving. Simply put, conservative driving = less energy consumption = greater range and mi/kWh.
When one harnesses the suns energy (solar panels) as I do, then miles/charge becomes less relevant.

If range is the only deciding factor for you, then go get the Model Y you stated earlier that you were already getting.
The Model Y will have a slightly better range due to its slightly better aerodynamics, given the same -10F conditions. You'll probably see an extra 15 miles or so.

Your decision is made! That was easy.

For me, there is a lot more at stake than simply "the best range".

That is correct! I am sure that their range goes up in cold weather because of their magical, mystical heat pump!
unlikely that heat pump works very well at minus 20F. furthermore, those heat pumps are failing left and right as reported on the Tesla owner forums.

I mean... it's physics, not magic. It does. Nobody would do a heat pump if it didn't increase efficiency, they cost more. VW does them, Hyundai/Kia does them, Nissan does them. True controlled tests show the efficiency gain.
