Adapters I use for FDRS that I know all work...from least expensive to most expensive, Topdon Rlink J2532 (about $300), Opus Mongoose+ Ford, (about $575 right now on Amazon), and a Ford (Bosch) VCM3 (not a chinese knock-off) (I got mine for about $1200 a year ago).

There have been some people that said the Topdon gave them problems.....but then admitted that they didn't follow instructions to update the firmware before using it. The really big advantage of the Topdon besides the price is the fact that you can download different software 'personalities' so it can be used on a lot of different vehicles....the other two are intended to be used specifically with Ford/Lincoln only.

You should test the VNCI VCM3. It keeps popping up on my social media advertisements. I’m curious if it works ok

I'm trying to climb out of multiple rabbit holes now..and you want me to go down another one :p

Aliexpress says it's $59.63 right now...dunno...that's definitely in the 'sketchy' zone, and the comments I'm seeing about support aren't positive. But I could be wrong. But I think I'll let somebody else find out.

That’s a really cheap price. In Canada it’s $178.

Can some one help looking up my car problem. It jsut bricked for the second time in one year. After three months in the shop last winter, they replacced the "wire harness and BECM." Worked fine until this week when it bricked again with Stop Safely Now warning. In shop again 240 mils from my home. VIN # 3FMTK3SU2NMA46518

Well you're just a rebellious troublemaker arntcha? :ROFLMAO:

I understand your desire to have a completely updated vehicle when you drive off the lot...but dealerships aren't required to do any updates unless it's something that's a 'stop sell' update that must be done before the car can be sold (essentially a recall).

They might be willing to do it as part of the sale if they know that you know just what updates are available...but then, they may tell you that they did all of them, and you come back here afterward and have me run the VIN again and find out they lied. That's actually happened a few times in the last three years I've been doing this. Just so you know.

Best of luck:

Oh, and the powertrain is 25 minutes, the doors, ACM, and WACM are two minutes each, but the CMR can take up to 52 minutes. so you're probably looking at two hours programming time.
Dang it all, they told me that it was manufactured so recently that there were no updates to run (had a feeling they were lying, which you have proved), and then on delivery day we got sidetracked by a recent dent in the that had to be fixed, and I didn't see this reply in time. CUSS

I wish I knew a guy in Colorado Springs who could just run these. Seems like Ford actually wants as much old software on the road as possible, until the owner experiences a dire issue.

These are the codes it reported when the incident occured:

Less than 20 minutes later, this popped up as a stored code, but it was not there previously, so I think it is safe to assume it is a byproduct of the codes above:

I don't know enough about these EV specific issues to tell you what caused it; maybe somebody else more familiar with these vehicles can shed their insight.

DTC P0B4A and P0B4F:
BECM P0B4A:00Hybrid/EV Battery Voltage Sense 'D' Circuit: No Sub Type InformationSets when BECM detects two or more cell voltage measurements are faulted within the cell module number 37-48
BECM P0B4F:00Hybrid/EV Battery Voltage Sense 'E' Circuit: No Sub Type InformationSets when BECM detects two or more cell voltage measurements are faulted within the cell range 49-60.
You've got faulty cells in your battery pack.

The fault has been reset, as of the 16th....dunno what is going on with it right now.

Thanks for your help. Local Dealer can't even look at it till next week. Will see what they say. Any idea what the solution is? Do they need to replace battery modules?

I would say that's likely. They'll run a battery health test and based on that the system will tell them what needs to be ordered or how to proceed. But it looks so far to me from where I sit that there is an imbalance in cell voltages that the BECM has picked up and as a result the HV battery got disabled to prevent a fire when recharging.

Hi:
Getting close to the end of the 35k warranty. I'm wondering if there's anything to be learned that I should take to my dealer while I can:

I know I have an incomplete update. Haven't been able to trick it yet...

Hello. I purchased my 21 GT in August and am curious to see if I have a backlog of OTA updates that I don't know about. Could someone have a look and provide me some insight? Thanks in advance to the community! 3FMTK4SE7MME02605

Below are the codes it is reporting. The ones that end in an 8 are stored codes, but the ones that end in letters B and F are active faults. However, even some of the stored codes are relevant. The DCME (door control module E) has a short circuit to groiund fault type, the IPMA is citing an invalid signal from the GSM and there is also invalid data between the DCME and GSM. These all seem to be related.

The B1578 code in the IPMA is citing an incorrect alignment/adjustment on the cameras, so the vehicle may benifit from an IPMA calibration procedure.

Difficult to diagnose remotely (for me anyway), but it looks like the door fault and the driver assist errors are two seperate issues.
