Yes, but will need wider wheels to get wider tires.
Yeah, I could see myself swapping out for some black wheels and then wider tires. I didn't buy this car for range anyway :D

Good points. So, when people are complaining about ground clearance, are they really complaining about ground clearance (e.g., they want to go on trails with their Jeep friends), or are they complaining about door height? If the door height were coupe-like, would that ease some of the pain?

I think I saw one poster at one time mention snow clearance .. I live in the land of no snow (month of February 2021 notwithstanding), so I'm not aware of this use case and its relevance. That said, clearly people drive sedans in snow so ....?
I would assume for most people they get told by marketing its an suv and then expect suv ride height, but really you only have to look at the mach-e and even with another inch of ground clearance you not going far of the beaten track with it.

Alex, concerning your video at the ~7:50 mark... Please check your sources on the vehicle weight. I think you have the AWD ER model which is heavier than what you said 4400/4500lbs. That might be about right for the SR model, but the ER is upwards of 4900lbs.
Maybe when YOU'RE driving.

You know what this argument reminds me of? The ".9" gasoline prices in the US. Let's not repeat that debacle.
My biggest pet peeve!!! Guess I don’t need to worry about that anymore!

I've driven on plenty of bad dirt roads in a low coupe and I still don't get why ground clearance matters so much if you're not going off-roading.

I also bottomed out that car more than a few times and it was totally fine. Without the exhaust seems like very little damage could be done.

Yes welcome and I enjoy the videos. But when I saw the title I thought it would be a review of the more serious problems early adopters have been experiencing. None of these ten things seem like a big deal at all by comparison.

The coil whine and wind noise, dead batteries, error codes, and DCFC charging problems are the bigger concerns. I guess encouraging that Alex hasn’t experienced any of them!
In fairness to the review, almost every owner will experience the issues the review identifies. Only a (very?) small number of owners seem to have had significant other issues such as dead batteries (although time will tell). Personally, I have had my Mach-E for over three weeks and have experienced only one meaningful problem (a OPD fault code that cleared as soon as I restarted the car and has not repeated). The thing that bothers me the most about the Mach-E? Only having one key fob. That sucks but I have addressed that by paying ~$80 each for two additional fobs plus $100 to program the two. Do I feel Ford sucks because of that? Sometimes, but I bought the car knowing Ford's ill-advised fob decision and am okay buying the additional fobs. My main concern is that, if Ford made the bad one fob decision, what other bad decisions have they made that have not yet presented?

#7 was a two parter. Efficiency is lower than the leader in the segment (but better than ID4). As far as the range calculation goes, here's the thing: Unless everyone uses the same testing cycle, however idiotic that cycle is, you have no basis to compare. When a consumer is shopping for a car and car X gets 15% "better" economy than Y, you'd expect that to be more or less the case in real world driving, even if the actual numbers are off. Likewise with EVs when one EV says 320 miles and the other says 270, most shoppers will assume the car that's listed at 270 won't go as far, even if that's not reality. A level playing field, no matter how insane that field is, would benefit Ford.
Hello Alex. Another point is how some manufacturer note the actual battery size and some note the usable battery size. It doesn't seem consistent and difficult to compare.

Yeah, tires make a HUGE difference for sure. I mean, we can change them on the Mach E right?
Yeah, just seems a shame to do so until they've worn out, so I'll be living with the slippery Michelins until then.

And, more importantly, benefit consumers. While the folks on this forum (myself included) may have the time and inclination to geek out endlessly on reviews, stats, company updates, and personal reflections and opinions, most people simply do not. I think it's laudable for Ford to provide a range that is realistic and definitely achievable, but my early experience suggests that the Ford range estimates are actually conservative compared to what is achievable. Prospective buyers won't have the opportunity to appreciate that if they compare Ford and Tesla reported EPA ranges and simply (and reasonably) take them at face value.

I have to say, apparently I'm in the minority but the lower the better. What others view as a disadvantage (e.g. Mach E ride height too low), I say dang wish it was almost 1 inch more LOWER! To each his own I suppose.
Yeah I'll be over here seeing if I can drop my MME another inch once I get it. I love feeling lower and more planted/connected to the road. Unless I'm buying a Bronco with real intent to go off-road (not off pavement, not just on gravel, but truly off-road), higher ground clearance doesn't mean much.

I thought it would be a lot of fun to take it out on the beach in the Outer Banks, NC. A lower ride height makes it more likely to get stuck in the sand. If I decide to get a Mach-E, maybe I will get some off road wheels/tires for the times I want to do something crazy like that.

After 2 weeks with my Mach E, I don't disagree with any of this except CarPlay. I haven't noticed a problem with it.

Thanks, Ford's data has been all over the map. The first time I drove the Mach E back in 2019 before the public reveal they were saying 4000 lbs, but then they said it was a typo, that the heaviest would be ~4500 lbs, their N. American media site provides no weight information at all for some reason. I've reached out to the Ford engineering team, I'll see what their current estimate is...

14. No heat pump or battery preconditioning - I live in Michigan and it's 28F today; that accounts for at least 23-30 miles of lost range on a "good" day.
15. Anemic standard and extended ranges on the batteries; the next generation of this vehicle (and future EVs) should have 300 and 400 miles (minimum) respectively. So much range is lost due to cold weather that it isn't a practical car to take on a road trip.
16. The charging infrastructure is pathetic. FordPass recommended stops of every 85-100 miles on a trip from Michigan to Tennessee; each stop required 75 to 90 minutes each on DC fast chargers (that are only capable of 50 kWh) to reach 80% charge on the battery. That would have meant that a 550 mile drive normally requiring 10 hours on the road would become 15 hours. Entirely unacceptable.
