Yeah, I second this. Ford seems to be active on Twitter and photos like these will have people screaming "TESLA QUALITY" from the mountaintops. Ford needs to fix it (if they haven't already).
As I noted in another thread, if similarly situated as Ford, I’d focus first on safety issues and those that keep the vehicle from operating. Since Ford appears to be addressing matters in order of importance, I figured I needed a temporary fix. My goal isn’t to shame Ford, but rather, come up with a temporary fix that enables me to enjoy my ride.

You enjoying your ride without any hindrances to actually driving it is the most important thing ? Still hope they *actually* get around to fixing it.
My Stinger had a hatch rattle problem and the dealer eventually got a fix but my homemade fix worked even better and lasted the whole time I had the car ?

I agree that Ford may well be focusing on issues based on importance (ie, safety, etc.) and wind noise might be lower priority. Posting the photos and tagging them on Twitter would certainly get attention. Ford not wanting to post a public list of ‘here are the MachE problems we’re working on’ is understandable.

However, seems like a simple solution might be for Ford to email us owners with a list and keep us updated. That would certainly instill (at least in me) a sense of genuine concern by Ford and confidence that they are listening and taking action.

I'm curious, have you ever seen a company do that?

Until one if those gappy roofs comes flying off. Then it’s a safety issue. I’d work on it right now if I were them.

“Undesirable Characteristic” does not imply the issue is being addressed. Quite the opposite imo.

I'm hoping they are working on it. My car won't be built until April so I'm following closely...

"Undesirable characteristic" was not specific enough. Maybe "undesirable noise characteristic" would have been clearer, to avoid fake news. I think it's "the 5G" causing the noise, myself.

Semantics.

Characteristics cannot be easily changed in a car, airplane, bicycle etc. You can adapt or change the negative impact but not what causing it absent a redesign of st least that area.

In this case, we know that the roof noise is not design flaw. The vast majority of MMEs don’t have the issue. So it would seem to be a manufacturing defect. Those can be dealt with. I simply object to calling it an “undesirable noise characteristic.” It’s not. It’s a defect in this particular unit.

@JSW - not sure if I missed it. But did you post a full 'after' photo? without the supplies in view.

Curious how well and un-noticeable it looks. And so everyone can critique your craftsmanship of course lol. JK

I'm going to try the 3/16. Stuck some 3/8 in just to see and it won't fit at all, so maybe 3/16 first and if not tight, then maybe 1/4.
Same - gonna start with 3/16, which will be available for me next week.

Actually I think they do, but maybe in varying degrees. Most people won't notice it. I didn't till I started listening real carefully with windows open and closed, and it could be better but it's not horrible. if I can fix it with a $11 roll of foam, no biggie.

The key is using the black foam. It will be hard to spot unless you are looking for it.
