Open the charge door on the Mach-E and then flip open the little plastic cover over the bottom section.

If it still doesn't look right then that particular ChargePoint might not be CCS.

Did you flip down the magnetic cover over the DC pins?

Did you enable the Ford connected services and plug-and-charge? If not, you can't just plug in CCS and expect it to charge; you have to use the charging company's proprietary app, or the FordPass app after enabling the connected services.

I just realized you said "chargepoint charger"; I don't think chargepoint supports plug and charge so you have to start the charging session through their app or fordpass (again for fordpass you need to enable connected services first)

Not to be trivial, did you follow the instructions on the charger?

The ones I've been using, I just start the session with my phone. Install the ChargePoint app, set up an account, make sure NFC is active on your phone, then just start the session by tapping your phone to the designated spot on the front of the charger (looks like a wifi symbol).

Many won't even unlock the plug from the charger holder until activated.

Not sure about the ChargePoints in your area, but the ChargePoint Fast Chargers here in the Kansas City area are currently incompatible with the Mach-E in any form. They said it would require an update for the charge stations to be compatible, and not all of them have received it yet. The Level 2 Chargers work just fine.

I’ve used a few different Chargepoint DCFC just fine (the 50kW ones). Using the chargepoint app to pay.

Same here, but it sounds like those big ChargePoint units installed around KC years ago are old models that aren't working with the MME. Everything I used in NV and UT on my recent trip was a newer model.

Here's the ones he's talking about. Looks like all the ChargePoint DCFCs around KC are these old units:

If you go into the FordPass app -> Vehicle -> Manage EV -> FordPass Charging Network -> Plug & Charge you'll see that there are only two charging networks that support plug & charge ... one is Electrify America (and I"m told all of their stations support it) and the other is GreenLots. I have been to a couple of GreenLots chargers ... but never found one that supports Plug & Charge.

No other charging network supports P&C.

Can confirm, unfortunately. I saw the other thread about KC Chargepoint issues the day prior to my road trip to Kansas City, so I topped off a bit extra at my last planned EA charge. I tried to use one of those old Chargepoint machines outside my hotel in Overland Park (since I couldn't find an outlet or EVSE anywhere) and kept getting the orange fault ring. Didn't seem to matter how I activated the station -- it constantly errored out with 'Charger Fault' in FordPass. Ironically, P&C worked perfectly for me the entire rest of the trip on EA!

Annoying, but not something I will need too regularly -- just trying to quickly get a little more range just in case while I didn't have an L2 available overnight. Not sure what else to do about it other than grumble on Plugshare or complain to Chargepoint?

I have had no problem using ChargePoints in MD or GA. They worked fine, you just had to initiate them using the ChargePoint app or RFID card. They are not Plug & Charge compatible, however.
