I'm currently driving a 2020 Escape as a loaner while my MME is getting some updates done at the dealer, and its kind of crazy how much more effort I have to put in to driving in that car that doesn't have the assist features.
I know right. I just did a 800 mile trip in a Nissan Rogue got back home and I fell passed out at 8pm. Today I'm still bone tired from the vibration and rattling. The same trip in the Mach-E I returned fresh as a bird.

These are both great things IMO... I'll spend the $600 to see if it improves my life.
As a post 4/26 order holder, I don't get the choice - the $600 was added to my MSRP. I also look forward to trying this feature. I have been a big fan of radar-cruise-control since my 2012 Prius V, and almost always use it on highways.

As a side note, I wonder if the current hold on shipping the eligible MMEs built over the past month is tied to the release of BlueCruise, since it's included on the window sticker for those cars.

sorry, quickly scanned these posts... and I've been trying to find a decent up to date blue cruise map. I know I've seen a tiny picture somewhere on these forums but I didn't know if there was a better map available somewhere?

Edit: yes I did see this post, but I didn't know if there was like html version or something not just a picture:

A bit late but it is on this page: BlueCruiseNews

If we've already purchased the car, can we ADD BlueCruise via a software update?
If it has the prep package, then yes. If it doesn’t have the prep package, then it is missing the hardware required.

I noticed in the Motortrend article that GM super cruise works on twice as many highways as Bluecruise. It would nice to see a detailed map of what highways are covered.

How much does it rely on the pre mapped data and how often is that updated? Not too long ago they shut down I-70 here for a weekend in Denver and completely changed the way the road went and has gone for the last 40-50 years. Looks like I-70 would be a mapped road based on that picture

Do you also not feel there's any value in regular cruise control, where you can take your foot off the pedal but still have to be vigilant?
I do! But that helps me maintain a constant speed and it is a built-in function with no extra cost. Likewise, the intelligent cruise control already in the car can keep the car in a lane, at speed, with automatic braking, etc. All the BlueCruise seems to add to that is the ability to take my hands off the wheel. But it isn't like it would be wise then to take up knitting while driving or something. Yeah, it is nice to relax the arms a bit, but that doesn't seem like much.

I'm in the early access program, so I'm still thinking about it, and reading here to see what other advantages it might convey.

i wouldn’t be surprised if that is where part of the cost is. They will need to periodically traverse over some of these roadways again and have someone watch out for construction notices being done on them.

I would think they will have taught the camera how to look for cones and other signs of construction or lane closures. As soon as BlueCruise sees something that isn't regularly defined lane markers on the road, it beeps and puts the driver back in charge.

I know people mention that the bump in price that happened includes BlueCruise, but that is just the hardware portion... correct? It will be another 600 if we want the software?

Nope, the hardware was always included. All MME models that have the required hardware and ordered after the price change get BlueCruise included with their purchase. It shows on my window sticker (ordered April 29).

It really is amazing how even sound dampening can keep you going and not drain you on long trips. My wife had a 2018 Nissan Rogue which by all accounts was a great car, but good God was that thing loud driving back and forth to NC from FL. I have tinnitus and it would just wear me down, I'd have to turn the music and podcasts up to hear them, etc. She's not the type of person that would really realize the noise difference, until now that she traded it in for a Volvo and realized how quiet it is at highway speeds.

That and how much better a heavy vehicle feels for daily use. It just dampens out the bumps in the road so much better and feels so much more solid.

My number one priority in finding an SUV since I need one now is noise level, and have to get rid of my Fusion that is super quiet. I was more than happy with the sound deadening in the Mach E I rented, it's as quiet as my fusion which days a lot when the rear wheels are in the cabin with you.
