A video with how BC does on these curves would be very helpful. Where is the early access? If Q3 was official release, hope its not 5 days of early access to provide feedback.

I was skipping some sections the first time I watched it, and thought it was completely disengaged on that curve. I watched it again, this time without skipping, it does appear the car was still in control, just that it wanted hands on from the driver. That's much better if it's the case.

I also liked that, according to the engineer, that you can force it to hug either side of the lane if you wanted. I like that a lot. In the Tesla, if you yanked on the wheel more than just a tiny bit, it will disengage. I usually like to hug the side of the lane that is less crowded, especially away from dump trucks and tractor trailers, and you can't do that in the Tesla.

To me this might be an issue of small sample size bias. Lets just wait until other people report a similar issue with curves.
Agreed. If only Ford had a pool of Mach E owners already signed up to test out new features.....

You're absolutely right. The engineer should have clarified that the system didn't disengage...it's just being safe and asking that you have "hands on". Hands on != disengage and take over.

Sandy does that a lot, talking over other people. Forgot what it was but the engineer was trying to explain something and then got cut off

This may come as a surprise to people that don't deal with engineers on a regular basis, but they are not always the best communicators. ;)

I feel Munro should update the video with an edit to clarify that the vehicle is just being safe but still driving.

The engineer was talking about Predictive Speed Assist, which from this article sounds like it's meant to deal with the curve issue by adjusting speeds:
Future enhancements are planned to include Lane Change Assist that will let the vehicle change lanes with just a tap of the turn signal indicator, and Predictive Speed Assist that will adjust vehicle speed for road curves, roundabouts and more.

Agreed! I always thought Tesla should consider a motorcycle setting especially where lane splitting is allowed. If you use AP on on the furthest left lane Motorcycle drivers are likely to flip you off lol

Looks great and it is worth it for people that use hands free a lot and do not want to be screamed at every 10 seconds to put their hands on the wheel. Should be no difference than the lane centering without the warnings to Noted someone said to hang your old gym shoes off the steering wheel to overcome that but this is better.

Sorry if this was brought up already but I am not reading 6 pages on Sandy. I am confused a bit it appears he was hitting the set cruise (on/off) button to enable it? Why not the bottom right button the one that enables lane centering? It does lane centering if you did not purchase self driving and self driving if you did. Every time you turn on the cruise it defaults to self driving is a bit weird. Maybe I am missing something.

At least when you hang tennis shoes from the steering wheel you can take curves that Blue Cruise can’t.

So far, I’ve been impressed how well the Mach-E will take curves using hands free.
I’ve taken both of these curves hands free.

Unless Blue Cruise offers a free trial I will continue to use ”Shoes Cruise” until Ford has more to offer.

I will drive that route home from work tonight, in the same direction. I’ll throw active lane centering on with ICC, and report back tomorrow how it handles. There are a couple curves in I-75 that are significantly tighter than those two, namely the one between 9-mile, and the one at 16-Mile roads, and I don’t recall ever having an issue with those. ?‍♂
Drove through those same curves today (going both ways north and south) as Sandy did on I-75 in the BlueCruise demo. The we had the blue bubble the whole time, ACC/Lane Centering did not turn off at all. Drove on I-75 north and south from M-59 all the way up to Birch Run and back.

I’m gonna come up from I-94 to M-59 tonight. And check out all the turns. I’m gonna throw the GoPro in the car tomorrow.

That should be a good one to test. That's going to be a tough one with the curves at Harper and again at Shook in such a close sequence before you get to 16 mile.

I’m sure all the families on the road appreciate you paying extra attention to the ankle weight on the steering wheel!

Not to be harsh but those are the things we usually rag on Tesla owners for!
Oh feel free to judge me all you want. It's the internet. Just to be extremely clear, I don't stare at the weight, just the road... :p
