I have every reason to believe the 272mi range at 70mph is legit for the Tesla Model Y. I've compiled a bunch of anecdotal tests done by YouTubers that documented range & efficiency below.

Model Y LR w/19" Gemini Wheels @70mph = 275mi per Tom Moloughney
Model Y LR w/20" Induction Wheels @70mph = 261mi per Bearded Tesla Guy
Model Y LR w/20" Induction wheels @65-75 = 272mi per Sean Mitchell

Model Y LR w/19" Gemini Wheels vs. Performance Y w/21" wheels @70mph = 291Wh/mi vs 285Wh/mi, respectively

Out of Spec Motoring saw 270Wh/mi @70mph on the Performance Model Y.

There's anecdotal evidence that efficiency on the Performance 21" is the same if not better than the 19" and 20" non-performance.
Those are documented figures. You had previously stated 300+ miles.

Yeah, I was quite wrong on the 300 miles for the Y Long Range Dual Motor. What's curious to me is that there's practically no difference considering the 3D LR vs. P3D in the real world aren't even close. It doesn't make sense to my brain.

Yes the Tesla might have a little more range and faster 0 to 60. But man I rather have a better made car then saying" I can go 0 to 60 faster then you" By only 1 second. So many flaws on the model y getting out. It's ship them out we need to get them sold we can try to fix them later.

Bad R&D parts not aligning right, trim parts not matching up, and so on and so on. Who knows what other parts that might be put together bad also that the eyes can't even see? time will tell. As for now check this video out.
Tesla took his car for 22 days to fix it and gave him a ford flex as rental lol. When done and returned , some of the problems they didn't even have a fix for.

Yeah, exactly. Make sure your friend and Ford don’t allow this to happen with the MME. I am curious about all that detail work - in particular the protection - not all the carbon fiber gingerbread. Curious as to the cost of something like that, and if anyone else here is planning on doing anything like that.

Agreed. 0-60 is such an overrated stat. Other than maybe once on a test drive (for the fun of it), I betcha I'll never floor it from 0-60 in actual driving practice. I don't know if the accelerator pedal has EVER actually hit the floor on our current vehicles.

As long as it's not sluggish, I'll be happy. And I know it won't be. A 6.5 second 0-60 is plenty fast enough for me (and I think the vast majority of people in actual practice).

The Mach E PDF spec page should be updated, it would help people see the comparative data. The brake sizes appear wrong, and the units are inches in one section and mm in another section. But the interesting thing was that the Mach E rear seat room width was comparable to a Nissan Rogue, while the Model Y was less than the Model 3. When you look at the picture the width between the seat belts in the Mach E back seat looks even for the passengers.

Says the person that doesn't daily drive a car with sub 4 second 0-60 :)

I didn't floor it often in my old cars that were relatively fast (Taurus SHO, GTO, Wife's Charger RT). I can't stop doing it in my Model 3. The feel is intoxicating. Though you will likely get SOME of that feel with an EV that does 6.5 0-60 even if that is relatively slow.

Caroll Shelby found out with the GT350 that people say they want a race car, but all they really want is a car that seems like a race car.

I personally like my slow car fast. I had a BRZ, a Cayman, and a GTI. I rarely accelerate my Model 3. It kind of makes me a bit nauseous. I do like it's instant response and passing power. I'm sure the ER RWD will give me that too.

for me the most important thing is range. Even with a light foot I'm getting 255 wh/mi. that translates to 213.7 real world miles, or 192 miles because of Tesla's small buffer. I can't have fun in the canyons with this range since I'll lose just under 20% of range just getting there.

Here in NJ there are plenty of places where you have to make a sharp right turn from a full stop into traffic moving at 60 mph. I think the extra acceleration will come in handy. (Although the rwd model that I am ordering only does it in mid-5 sec. it will still be the fastest car that I have ever owned.)

Not quite. On the Tesla sight they include the fuel savings in the "cost" of your car. Once you've selected all your options it's still there in bold. Only below it does it say "purchase price." You have to actually deselect "Include potential savings" at the very beginning of the process.
