Need help impressing car nut father-in-law. What do you show "guests" first?

Give them a warning before you punch it, one of my neighbors had no clue what was going to happen, and it slammed her head back a bit. She’s fine but she couldn’t wait to get out of the car! ? lol, you won’t have to do much more…many have never raced a car. Have fun, and be careful, they also don’t know how to drive it… What I like to point out is the clean air and it’s nice to not dump a gallon of gasoline into the atmosphere every 20 miles.?

I asked if he wanted to se my center knob. As his daughter finds is quite amusing.
He said no, not understanding that I talked about the screen volume control.

If you have my kind of luck the first thing you try to demonstrate won't work, lol.

Hey all you helpful folks!
I recently got my Mach-E (10 months order to delivery). I'll be at my in-laws for Super Bowl and want to impress my car nut, electrical engineer father-in-law and Camaro-collector uncle (both good dudes) with my new car.
I am not a car guy, more of a tech guy. He once told me about hitting my frozen snowthrower with a hammer to unstick a bendix and flywheel. I thought I was getting pranked, but hey, it worked...

What stats/specs do I say to impress them? What do I show them when they sit in it? What will really wow them (aside from the acceleration)? What is the first thing you show guests?

2021, Premium, All Wheel Drive, Extended battery, space white, light interior.

Thank you.
I personally think you're taking the wrong approach here. If they are car nuts, they should know about the car. Offer them a ride, with them sitting back as others have noted before you punch it. If they want to read about the car, they can go do that. Play it cool.

Take them for ride first before you show them anything and then show the massiv (missing) engine in th front. Car nuts love to talk about it.

Honestly, it depends about what kind of Car enthusiast they are. I am sure they will be impressed. Let them drive it in unbridled mode with the propulsion sound on. That always does the trick. Ask them to floor it. Best of Luck.

Why not 1PD??? Doesn't hurt the acceleration, does it?
Because if they have never driven a 1-PD car they will quickly get seasick trying to figure it out.

For them you want it to drive like any other car they've driven. Just get in and drive.

You can demo 1-P later or, if they ask, just switch it on--that is impressive enough by itself "oh you can turn that on/off while you're driving!"

Ok, first, grab an empty bottle of V-8 and put it in the frunk. Take him for a drive (including a stretch where you can safely “punch it” from a stop to whatever your favorite top speed may be. I have a favorite highway entrance ramp that’s very long, protected by jersey barriers, and rarely used. It’s ideal. My passengers act like Grogu in the last scene of the final episode of the Book of Boba Fett every time ????). Then, give him a walk-around and offer to show him what’s “under the hood” (hence the bottle of V-8 ?).
Now for the kicker, drive past a gas station and casually mention that with electricity costing x cents per kWh, it costs $10 or whatever to dully charge the car and you get about 250 miles on a charge. ??
On and let him drive it of course (whisper and turn off 1PD)

Show them the backup beep

Show them the engine whine

Show them the frunk pull release

Show them the charge port door

Show them the buttons to open the doors etc...

Then take them for a ride and step on it.

They will forget anything prior you showed them.

It's all about the performance... Yes the MME looks nice too, but that's subject to ones own interpretation.

My 2 cents.

Personally I forget it's a Ford, to me it's made by a different company.

Simply because new driver needs to get used to it.
If they don't keep the paddle pressed to the floor and let off, car will start to break and there goes your 0-60.

It’s kind of cheesy but every time I show someone the car for the first time I open the frunk and gasp “Where’d the engine go?!” Blows their minds lol.

Also just taking them for a ride and doing 0-60 always works too.

What will impress them more I think is the silence drive of an EV, besides all of the other things.

Oh, I am fairly certain they invited the car over and need me to drive it there. ? They are excited to see it.
