It looks like add-ons stopped being an option in California.... They doit to all the cars and clients have no choice to opt out...... Am I wrong? Somebody has a different experience?

Are you talking about dealer add ons? It’s always an option but getting your dealer to play ball is a different story.

This has everything to do with the dealer and nothing to do with the ordering process, or Ford, or the state. That dealer decided, in short, to screw people by forcing them to buy things they didn't want.

Dealer lies, salesperson lies, manager lies.

It’s definitely one of those three things.

Practice these words, “I’m not paying for that.”

Nowadays all dealers of all brands here add those addons on all cars.
If you don't want to pay for it - they just refuse to sell you a car

If you don't then you are not going to have a car

Clearly if every dealership in a market does something, then the only way around that is to buy elsewhere. I don't think you can make the broad assumption that the entire state of California has this problem. And, some of the dealers seem to have some access to a California-specific rebate.

You paid a lot for add-ons and ADMs. You bought the car. To me, I wouldn't waste my time coming on a forum to discuss it. There are only 3 possible responses - you got hosed, you did fine, and oh, what a great deal you got. It's not going to be the last one.

All that should matter to anyone, you included, is that you are happy with the car and what you paid. If you weren't, you shouldn't have bought it. Enjoy your car.

What if that ADM was presented to you at the last moment when you are picking up the car?

I disagree.... I think this matter has to be voiced and discussed. Before i agreed to those buying terms I've heard a lot of stories from other people. All dealerships do this ...... at least in SoCal

If they put extras on a car before customers even look at it, like door edge protectors, or mudflaps, or "rustproofing", they'll automatically upcharge you and tell you there's nothing they can do about it. It's one of their many little upcharging scams they like to run.

Whatever floats your boat. From your post, it seemed they sprung this crap on your at signing, and you had to take it or else not buy the car. You chose to do that. Me - I'd pick it up in a different state. You're not me, and I'm not you.

It's a scam, pure and simple.

Maybe this is a SoCal thing but from the dealers I know of here in NorCal, including the one I bought my two Mach-E's from that had NO ADM and NO dealer added OPTIONS, I would say you need to find a different dealer.

After this experience I will never buy a car from the dealer anymore.......
