Can anyone make a suggestion for a smoother ride?

Thank you for the very well writen up ... I am going to do my own install. I have done on my two Outbacks and Mach-E seems to be straight forward.
Mark has a GTPE so it will be interesting to hear how it works out on your car. Let us know!

please let us know how It rides after installation.

$375 might be worth it if it dampens the ride by even a few percentage points

Sure. There’s a sure-fire solution to ensure you get the ride you want. It’s called the Mercedes Benz EQS. Amazing ride. You’ll love it ?
All except double or more the price ?

I love my Mach E. But the ride suspension is a bit wonky in my opinion (way too bouncy). Has anyone else experienced this and/or have any tips on how to make better? I was thinking about purchasing new tires, but i dont know how that would affect the warranty i purchased.
Agreed, the Mach E suspension is like driving a chair with four wooden legs down the road

Keep in mind. In regards to your warranty, you are protected by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975. Which simply states, before a warranty can be deemed invalid due to an aftermarket modification, the manufacturere must prove that what ever modification was done directly resulted in the failure of a part or system. Then that part or system can be excluded from the warranty alone. Changing of tires does nothing with your warranty.

Btw… I’m looking at after market shocks for mine As well.

I have a Select AWD SR with 18" tires. Just drove it from Minnesota to Florida without riding complaints. It was really loaded down. Of course there were some really bad roads that only magna-helics would smooth over.

I hear you. I really think the physics of the thing makes any aftermarket solution sketchy. Very heavy car with low CG on not the longest wheel base. Mine is 2WD and I think losing the weight of the front motor helped (about 500 pounds). Based on the Model Y's I have road in it is maybe better or close the same as a Tesla Model Y. So again just the physics based on the kind of suspension makes it none too fixable. I also have a Mini Cooper EV so as compared to an ICE Mini it is 300 pounds heavier and you can feel the difference on a bump. In the Mini without seat belts I think I would hit my head on the roof and it has a lot of headroom.

Heard the Magnaride on the GT is awesome and at the moment you will likely to get more then you paid if you sell it. Could be a good way to go?

For gripping human interest my best ride was an F150 King Ranch 2WD and firmest before the Mach-E and Mini was a Mustang EcoBoost Premium convertible.

I also think an aftermarket solution will be unlikely to make things better. But I want to be wrong, so waiting for someone to try!

Everyone that thinks the suspension is too rough; are you all on extended range batteries? The rear dampers are different between the battery types.

Trying to collect data on all the model variants Gvwr and load rating to determine if swapping the rear dampers is a possibility and what the vehicle load rating might be with the new dampers.

Stiffer swaybar will definitely not help with ride quality over bumps. It’ll actually make it worse.
Correct. That is what I found after adding the Steeda rear sway bar. Not anything major but definitely stiffened up the rear some.

Hi !

Change the rear springs!

There was a article that someone changed rear springs on the Mach-E.
According to the person, it was a great difference i driving comfort.

I cant find the article:rolleyes: , but i saved the link for the parts that was used :)

That someone was me and while changing the rear springs did help, it did not fix the entire bounce problems the car has. I ended up changing the front springs and struts and rear shock all to the GT parts and it was better but if you are after getting rid of the bounce it still won't be completely eliminated. To experience what the ride is like before changing out these suspension parts, I would suggest to find someone that has a GT (non PE), a member, dealer, etc., and drive it on the roads you have issues with. You will get a firmer, more controlled ride with less bounce changing all your springs and shocks to the GT variant (about $800 total in parts). It definitely will keep the car more planted and handles better but it DOES NOT eliminate the bounce which is mainly in the rear.

The thing is, around where I live the uneven roads, rail road tracks, bumps, etc were all smoothed out nicely when I installed all of the GT parts on my Premium. HOWEVER, I do not have any freeways that have frequent expansion joints which seem to cause a constant bounce when going high speeds. I sold my Premium to a friend in Arizona and have been in that car a few times going from Phoenix airport to his place in Surprise. That 30 minute drive does have expansion joints on certain freeways and the car definitely does have a bounce to it. I never experienced this where I lived and can only imagine what it was like before I changed those parts. I think this is why some people have issues with the car bouncing and some don't. It all depends on the roads you drive on.

The Mach-E is registered as a truck in Florida, so it's not going to ride like a mid-sized Gas or Hybrid car. When I took a loaner for a test drive last March, I let out about 3-4 PSI from the tires, and I thought that it rode better. The high air pressure (41 PSI) in my opinion helps mileage, but not ride.
