3 local dealerships within 45 minutes. One refusing to do it. One saying it could be a "long time before we have the tools to do it and we can't use yours and we'll let you know" and the last one refusing to return calls. I gave this company $55k.
Yes definitely should have thought hard about service issues before becoming a first time ford customer. Though it might not be a ford only issue but more like a first real electric vehicle from them. Either way, now I hope I continue enjoying the car and not have to deal with a dealership much.

I'm taking mine in to the dealer for this tomorrow. I've been waiting for it for what seems like forever. I've read through this post and the only things I've seen that I should tell the dealership are "Make sure FDRS is updated before beginning" and "Please update modules (ADIM?) when it's complete. Anything else I should know, besides that telling them these things will probably make me look like a tool? :)

My car is at the dealer to have this applied tomorrow as well. I asked after they apply it to do all available updates so I dont have to wait for OTA updates. They said they would. I will let you know if it worked

If I try the module update repair, I get the same error. It establishes comms with the APIM and the TCU and afterwards tells me to shut off the car. And then the error is shown.
But I'm still on 1.7.1 (I just have the notes app. In settings menu it shows SYNC 4 Softwareversion 21174_PRODUCT and revision 168). And in onboard diagnostics I can't see a serial number for the APIM.

I installed version 1.7.1 via FDRS and had to install it twice because the first time something didn't go right and I wasn't able to switch to the dark theme any more. With the second attempt it finished correctly. And I haven't received any OTA updates afterwards.

And in the OTA information section of the iOS widget I get a status of null for the updatePendingState. And the schedule also shows null for the dayOfWeekAndTime, but I have set it to 03:00. And I can toggle the auto update button on and off, but it's always just saying that my system is up to date.

So I guess there is something wrong here and I hoped this TSB would fix it, but it doesn't even start applying the fix.
Something interesting happened to my car. On monday I tried to apply the TSB, but it failed as described in my previous post. And today I suddenly received the OTA update to 2.3.0. My last OTA update before that was 1.4.0 with Securialert and afterwards the updates stopped working.
Got the update message in Ford Pass and on the vehicle display as well. Even the iOS widget now shows all the information it should be providing about the OTA status. The fuseResponse section is now finally showing useful information instead of just null.
Could this be a coincidence, that the updates suddenly started working again after my failed attempt and my last post or did Ford change something on their end?

Well as long as they follow the TSB, it will tell them to apply AIPM/TCU updates after if they are available.

Also, at the end of the Module update repair process, the last prompt it tells the tech is " The Module Update Repair procedure was successful! Perform any software updates on the TCU and APIM as required. "
Ben,

I took the car in today for the TSB. I supplied the necessary cables and adapters as well as a printout you did for how you performed the update. Even with all this, the mechanic apparently had a hard time and had to call Ford for assistance. I think he was able to perform TSB 22-2117 then but didn't update the modules after that. The interface looks slightly different now and I'm attaching some screen shots and you can tell me if it worked or not. The switch to do automatic updates reappeared and I can schedule updates now. He didn't update the APIM after that (I think) or the TCU (I think). Will these updates come OTA now?
EDIT: I reread the worksheet and he DID do the necessary updates to the APIM and TCU modules but didn't install all the missing OTA Startup updates that I am missing.
Here are some screenshots. please let me know if it appears that the TSB worked.:

Well thank you, that makes me feel better. Will the OTA updates after 1.7.1 be downloaded now over time so that I eventually "catchup" to where the car should be?

Yes, you will catch up via OTA but not sure when the next one will be pushed as there is some re-tweaking going on

I seem to be stuck at 2.1.0

Should I be concerned, not sure where I should be at by now.

My vehicle was delivered in April of 2021.

I do have blocks, sketch and tiles, but no tick-tac-toe.

Please advise
My best,
Ray

You‘re fine. Tic-Tac-To is in the Sketch app.

You in San Diego? lol
Not sure which dealer you are using but Encinitas Ford is the hub dealer for training other dealers in the area… should try them if you are having issues elsewhere

Congrats! So I take it they can install the other Power Up updates after they unlock 1.7.1? I’m taking mine in tomorrow and may ask them to do that. Even if they have to keep it until Friday.

According to what I’ve read on this thread earlier they “could” do this but it takes hours and they didn’t do all that for me as best as I can tell. When they do TSB 22-2117 Sync 4a doesn’t list the current Startup update. That only happens when it’s an OTA update (again from what I've read on this thread). I did ask for just what you are asking but from what was written on the repair order I don't think they did all that (but they did have my car from 7 am until 4:30 pm so that was several hours they had available). When the Service Writer called me to pick the car up he said the mechanic had done the TSB and removed "all" the error codes after that. Not sure what he meant by that and if it is the same as putting in all the Startup updates or not. I guess I won't really find out until the next OTA update appears and I can see what version it is.
